It was impossible to escape yesterday’s big news: ABC canceling “Roseanne,” the hit reboot of the 90s sitcom, over a racist tweet from Roseanne Barr. (RELATED: ‘Roseanne’ Canceled on ABC After Crude Tweets).
Everywhere you looked, on Facebook, Twitter, to the TV, everyone was talking about the Roseanne fallout. Many liberals celebrated the firing. Many conservatives pointed out ABC’s double standard by axing “Roseanne” yet allowing the anti-Christian bigoted women of “The View” to remain on the air. Now the media, in its nonstop quest to topple President Trump, is trying to tie the Roseanne controversy to the White House.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked to comment on the show’s cancellation. Her response is driving reporters mad.

MSNBC reporters asked White House press secretary Sarah Sanders about the cancellation of “Roseanne” Tuesday.
Sanders didn’t play into the outrage news cycle, and responded by saying that there was no comment and she didn’t know when there would be one.
“We don’t have anything from the White House yet, except for this from our White House unit,” Tur said.
“‘We just saw Sarah Sanders in the hallway and she had no comment about Roseanne Barr getting cancelled. We asked when the White House would have a comment, she indicated it was not clear.’”

That’s the best possible answer to give on a clear “gotcha” question. The cancellation of a televised sitcom has nothing at all to do with the White House or the presidency. There is absolutely no purpose in Sanders addressing the issue. Tur and MSNBC are trying to stir up controversy, and it’s pathetic.
This isn’t journalism – it’s advocacy.
Sanders did the right thing denying MSNBC the scoop. No doubt anything she said would be twisted and reworked to make the President look like a racist.
