As with any tragic story, focus in the media will remain strongly skewed towards the attacker, understandably so.
We’d like to introduce you, however, to the man who shot and apprehended Sayfullo Saipov, the New York City terrorist, before he could cause any further carnage yesterday.
Officer Ryan Nash was called to Stuyvesant High School for reports of a suicidal teenager roughly half-an-hour before Saipoz used a Home Depot truck to run down scores of people on a Manhattan bike path, killing eight.
In the area, Nash confronted the terrorist and was able to take him into custody after the truck deliberately struck a school bus.
Our hats off 2 Officer Ryan Nash & @NYPD1Pct who were 1st on scene, didnt waiver, apprehended the suspct, & saved lives. God bless the #NYPD pic.twitter.com/T7puGR9Rde

Saipoz was brandishing realistic looking weapons and refused to drop them. As a result, Nash shot him in the stomach and arrested him.
NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill commended the officer for his efforts.
“I want to commend the response of our NYPD officer that was on post near the location who stopped the carnage moments after it began,” O’Neill said at a press conference.
God Bless Ryan Nash the 28 year old assigned to Lower Manhattan’s 1st Precinct who rushed to the scene and shot the suspect in the stomach. https://t.co/OOmwSAiwEY

Nash’s quick actions likely prevented the terrorist from claiming any more victims – especially school children. Eyewitnesses said that after crashing his truck, Saipov then sprinted toward a group of children.

City Councilman Joe Borelli lauded Nash as a hero and said “the world should be talking about him” today.
Here’s the hero cop the world should be talking about. Police Officer Ryan Nash risked his life to save others. Thank u Ryan, thank u #NYPD pic.twitter.com/TqT0inXq7K

ABC News reports that Nash was treated at a local hospital for ringing in his ears but was otherwise unscathed in the altercation with Saipov.
Mayor Bill de Blasio expressed thanks for “All our first responders for their extraordinary efforts in the midst of this tragedy, starting with the officer who stopped this tragedy from continuing.”
Thank you, Officer Nash.
Drop a note of thanks for this hero cop in the comments section below!
Looks like you’re gonna get the Gold Shield for this NICE WORK> CONGRADS
Larry, you fool. Should have shot him lower, around the groin. More painful and less likely to propagate.
Funny thing about those who wanted him killed instead of captured alive, why don’t they don’t want him to spill the beans on the other terrorists? Why would they want other terrorists to avoid detection?
Shot him too low, should have killed the diaper-head thug.
This happened after the democrat running governor of VA released a political campaign commercial that showed a truck tracking and running over children. Coincidence?
Thank you to the men and women who came to aid the injured and helped those who lost a loved one find compassion and empathy. It a shame that there are politicians in this country hoping for more madness and continue to push the boundaries of class and taste.
Thanks for your bravery and fast action, officer Nash! Meanwhile, we have enough from ullahuf***kbars’ terrorism world-wide! It’s time to sash islam, muslims and their sick, perverted “religion of peace”! President Trump was RIGHT again about these scum. We need to go after them, anywhere they’re hiding. Get out of America, get out of the world, get out of Earth, ullahus!
thank you , SIR. a true officer and a great American patriot. God bless you
I just want to say
Thank You Officer Nash!
This officer preserved life, due process, and evidence by taking this coward alive.
Just imagine! Cankles had promised to bring in an additional half million of these “immigrants” if elected! Like that was a good thing!
Evidently he’s not a very good shot. He missed his head and missed his heart. Now we have to pay the terrorists medical bills and his food and housing for the next 60 years.
My sentiments exactly, wish he would have killed the worthless b@stard instead!
THANK YOU OFFICER NASH!
THANK YOU OFFICER NASH!
Memories are made of this. Likely a career high-point, never to be forgotten. Nice job!
Congratulations to a great officer! Too bad he didn’t kill this guy though so we don’t have to waste taxpayer money to try this heathen!
Congratulations Officer Nash. You are a member of the thin Blue line that protects our nation.
On the other hand, Councilman Borelli, what are you thinking? You put a target on Officer Nash’s back as well as his family’s. Idiocy.
Very brave officer. I hope he has protection from the creeps who support the barbaric actions of this filthy terrorist!
