Loughlin To Plead ‘Not Guilty’ To Latest College Admissions Scandal

On Friday, Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were both slapped with a new charge in the federal case on Oct. 22 bringing the count to three. Their legal team said the couple plan to plead not guilty to the charge of conspiring “to commit federal program bribery” by bribing employees of the University of Southern California (USC) to facilitate their children’s admission.

Loughlin Proclaims Not Guilty

Loughlin says she and her husband are not guilty and “just wanted the best for their daughters.” Federal prosecutors say they are liable with evidence (emails, phone recordings, money transfers, pictures falsely showing daughters as expert rowers, more.)

The powers that be are not going to be happy, nor are they likely to go easy on them for forcing them to prove what everyone already knows: They look guilty. If either one of them had any brains at all, they would have accepted a plea deal.

I wonder if she realizes that when in prison, they don’t let you wear designer clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc.? I wonder if she ALSO realizes that the other inmates aren’t going to show her much mercy either. They’re likely to be a little angry that she “had it all” and let nothing more than pure narcissism put her in her present situation.

Previously: Why Lori Loughlin Has Pleaded Not Guilty in the College Scam

She knew she was doing wrong, so why get your kids involved? This is a perfect example of someone who thinks she can plead ignorance and not go to jail. It’s obvious she’s not getting good advice from her lawyer. She is bound to be found guilty of something. The government is not going to allow her to make them look like they are wrong. A plea deal was her best bet.

Refusing to Take Responsibility

If it had been me they would have thrown me in jail no chance to plead at any time and all charges would apply. She’s being made into an example alright. How to pay the price when you refuse to accept responsibility in the face of undeniable evidence. She had her out and still thinks she’s innocent.

It is hard to believe that she will not even consider that she and her husband probably did something illegal. How many sick poor lost out on scholarships because of these two? They had enough money to send their daughters to any school, yet cheated and lied to get them into the right school. They are reprehensible in my book, and I hope the judge throws the book at them.

I’m curious how her daughters made their grades and not be placed on academic probation. Is there a different educational requirement for athletes with a scholarship?

Everyone Is Mad at Lori Loughlin’s Privilege – How About Looking Into Malia Obama and Chelsea Clinton’s?

A lot of people said Felicity Huffman got a slap on the wrist, but the point of jail/prison time is to make sure people won’t do it again. I’m confident that Huffman will never try anything like this again, so the punishment was successful.

Obvious Denial

With Loughlin, I’m not sure those same two weeks wouldn’t have worked. It’s obvious they’re in denial and truly feel they did nothing wrong and consequently would do it again.

I think we’re looking at a minimum of one year in federal prison for her and her husband. Maybe that type of time will set in and make her understand what she did was wrong and not to do it again.

Federal cases get 98 percent conviction. Fed prosecutors (98) v. Loughlin & Giannulli (2). Not a smart decision. She still won’t admit guilt and always wants to use their wealth to continue buying their way for what they want.

  • They don't need to. Lori tried to make her bribes look good. Others couldn't care less. There is corruption all over.

  • USC is not a public university. Private universities can do what they want. C'mon it's USC. Pay the big bucks and you are in, even if your children are still learning how to pick their noses. USC is fundamentally a corrupt school but not THAT much more corrupt than other big name private colleges -- i.e. Harvard, Yale, Brown, etc.. Lori was just playing by USC's admissions rules. Go for it Lori.

  • They did only the wrong people accepted the donations. Lori did not find the right person to take the bribe (also referred to as a donation) or they were not secretive enough about to whom they made the (donation) I wonder why you refer to her husband as useless
