While the majority of the American public has always been against illegal immigration, that’s rarely been the case for legal immigrants.
Perhaps that’s because people are wising up to the fact that not all forms of legal immigration are equal. Someone born to illegal immigrant parents on U.S. soil is technically a legal immigrant, but in no way is that comparable to a skilled worker applying for citizenship in the U.S. Likewise, there is no skill requirement for coming to America through chain-migration (via a family member) or through the “diversity visa lottery.”
Coming to America is a privilege, not a right, and why should we let anyone in? Despite all the branding of Trump’s strict immigration stance as “racist,” literally every country enforces their immigration laws, some more strict than we do.
Mexico deports more Central American illegal immigrants than we do, and regulates legal immigration by race. Canada won’t even let someone with a DUI enter their country to visit – and you’ll need a net worth exceeding $1 million if you realistically want residency there. In the case of Japan, their immigration policy is more “anti-immigration” than anything. In 2009 they passed a law allowing the Japanese government to pay $3,000 to each unemployed Latin American immigrant residing there – under the condition that they and their entire family (who would be compensated an additional $2,000 per member) would be prohibited from ever returning to Japan.
And it looks like more Americans are coming around to the view that even legal immigration should be limited. According to the Washington Times,
A Harvard-Harris poll taken in the run-up to the shutdown found Americans strongly support granting citizenship rights to illegal immigrant Dreamers. But they also back Mr. Trump’s three demands for a border wall, limits to the chain of family migration and an end to the Diversity Visa Lottery.
Most striking of all is the public’s demand for lower overall legal immigration — a position that has little traction on Capitol Hill but one that is overwhelmingly popular across the country.
The poll found that most Americans want annual legal immigration capped at 500,000 a year or less — far lower than the current annual rate of 1.3 million.
That amounts to just north of a 61% decline in our current levels of immigration.
In fact, less than 1 in 5 polled wanted more than 1 million immigrants per year, meaning they technically could want to see it cut from current levels without knowing it.
Meanwhile, 35% said we should take in fewer than 250,000 legal immigrants a year, while another 19% said it should be 250,000 to 500,000.

Anyone that enters the US needs to learn and speak English be self-efficient and only those with legal immigration status. As for DACA they should not be given citizenship entry should be by some other name. The immigration question is in desperate need of clear definitions. Do that and the rest will fall into place. As it is people with the same ideas can find themselves shouting at each other because the different terms can mean the same thing.

The honest citizens of the US have always welcomed a legal immigrant to this country with open arms. An addition of just a few words to the title would be great. The honest citizen wants a 100% stop to ILLEGAL immigration. The choice is simple, 1. Close the borders. 2. Welcome the legal immigrant. 3. Deport the illegals. 4. If your parents aren’t legal, neither are you. 5. Do it legally or not at all.
We need our border secured first. Build the damn wall where a wall is warranted,and sensors where a wall isn’t feasible Stop all immigration until a proper vetting program can be put in place AND USED.

The idea of “anchor baby” is a misnomer. First, a baby born in USA does not make it constitutionally a citizen …. the constitution has language that adds a requirement of of subjection. specifically: and subject to the jurisdiction thereof
this prevents a foreign dignitary or leader, bringing their harem with them and dropping a citizen. the parentage and subsequent upbringing needs to be subject to our laws. if parents are illegals when baby born then the baby is illegal. demoncrats allowing a foreign citizen to be kept away from their rightful country is cruelty as now evidenced by the DACA Latin Americans especially. the only heart tug they have is their supposed loyalty to USA which is belied by DACAs caught trying to smuggle in more DACAs

Why are hospitals being forced to delivery babies from illegal aliens anyway? Hospitals are private companies. How can the federal government force a hospital to admit someone who is not here in the country legally and who doesn’t have the money to pay for the delivery and the hospital stay? Do any of us realize how many illegal babies are born each year? Once they are born they automatically become American citizens. Not only that, what happens to the mother? Since, I guess, you can’t send the baby back to the mother’s country and you can’t send the baby’s mother back to her country because the baby is a citizen, that means that two of them, both actually illegal, get to stay in the country forever and ever. Is this country out of its mind?

An illegal coming across to border to have a baby is doing nothing more than stealing. They can not be blamed for doing it when they can get free delivery and some of the best medical help, and we let them do it. Muslims from the radicalized countries need to be kept out and others should be seriously checked out before being permitted. The US should take a lesson from Japan.

I just sent emails to all 3 Congressmen from my state as well as Trump & basically said NO DACA, NO AMNESTY, DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS & RELEASE THE MEMO. I am just as fed up with all this as you are! On another note I had a poll sent to me last week asking whether you would vote for Trump in 2020 so of course I voted yes. The poll was emailed to me today which showed 96% of the people polled voted “yes” & only 4% voted “no” which just proves once the mainstream media lies about everything. If you don’t follow Q look into him as he is obviously an insider to Trump who really knows what’s going on.

Once the current situation is fixed then allow limited immigration and under no circumstances should any Muslims be allowed in.
