BREAKING NEWS: A soccer match in Germany has just been cancelled due to hard intelligence pointing to a terrorist attack on the game.
Just days after Islamic State (ISIS) savages slaughtered innocent people in Paris, France, comes this latest attack on Western civilization.
Chief Volker Kluwe told NDR that authorities “had concrete intelligence that someone wanted to set off an explosive device inside the stadium.” The tip from federal authorities forced the cancellation of the Netherlands-Germany match about one-and-a-half hours before game time.
“We do take this intelligence seriously. That is why we proceeded with this protocol. We did not take this decision lightly, but it was in accordance with the seriousness of the intelligence,” Kluwe said. However, no explosives were found at the stadium, regional Interior Minister Boris Pistorius said at a news conference Tuesday night.
As important as it is to not let the terrorists win by living in fear, German authorities felt that their intelligence was solid enough to warrant their actions.
Shortly after the Paris terrorist attacks, ISIS released a video warning about more attacks on Europe and even threatened America.
