ABC News’ Jonathan Karl set a trap for White House Spokesman Josh Earnest regarding the Democrat presidential primary. And Earnest stepped right into it.
Karl asked Earnest if Obama would support Joe Biden over Hillary Clinton. Earnest replied that the President considers picking Biden to be his Vice President “the smartest decision he ever made in politics.” Karl pointed out that meant that appointing Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State wasn’t as strong as a decision.
Earnest followed up with saying that Obama might make an endorsement in the primary.
This is yet another blow to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. The White House seems to be flaunting support for the Vice President over the former First Lady.
