After a uniformed Texas sheriff’s deputy was executed over the weekend, a clearly angered colleague told the nation that it’s time to stop with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ rhetoric.
“Why don’t we drop the qualifier and just say ‘Lives Matter?’ Sheriff Ron Hickman asked.
Hickman was angrily responding to news of the “calculated, cold-blooded assassination” of Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Darren H. Goforth, 47, who was ambushed Friday night after leaving a convenience store.
It is being described as an unprovoked execution, with the suspect having stood over Goforth and continuing to fire as he was lying on the ground.
Hickman believes the national rhetoric of ‘Black Lives Matter’ radicals and the media that enables them has something to do with the murder.
via NBC News:
Authorities were continuing to hunt for a suspect Saturday in the “execution-style” shooting of a uniformed Texas sheriff’s deputy, while warning that “dangerous rhetoric” against law enforcement has “gotten out of control.”
“We’ve heard black lives matter — all lives matter,” a visibly angry Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman told reporters. “Well, cops’ lives matter, too.”
A person of interest was voluntarily taken in for questioning early Saturday, and authorities said that he was cooperating but did not provide details about his relationship to the case.

Hickman: “I will echo also what the DA mentioned. Some of the dangerous national rhetoric that is out there today. Our system of justice absolutely requires law enforcement be present to protect our community, so at any point where the rhetoric runs up to the point where calculated cold-blooded assassinations of police officers happens, this rhetoric has gotten out of control. We’ve heard ‘black lives matter,’ ‘all lives matter.’ Well cops’ lives matter too. So why don’t we drop the qualifier and just say: Lives Matter. And take that to the bank.”
Comment: Do Black Lives Matter radicals and the liberals who enable them now have blood on their hand with the murder of Deputy Goforth?
