The United Nations has made it clear that they only have one criterion for something to be considered a “violation of human rights” – that Israel is the perpetrator.

In 2016, the U.N. general assembly passed five times more resolutions against Israel than against North Korea, Syria, Russia, Iran, and the rest of world… COMBINED. Only Israel was listed as a violator of women’s rights, labor rights, and people’s “mental, physical and emotional health.” (RELATED: Israel Fights Back After UN Attacks Them).

Back in March, Nikki Haley called out the UN for their long-standing anti-Israel bias. She told the UN that “the United States would continue to examine our membership,” following anti-Israel bias when the UN sided with Hamas members that were killed attempting to storm the Israeli border. She also called out their “relentless, pathological campaign” against Israel. 

And now, that threat is going to become policy.

According to Bloomberg, “the Trump administration plans to announce its withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council on Tuesday, making good on a pledge to leave a body it has long accused of hypocrisy and criticized as biased against Israel, according to two people familiar with the matter.” 

The UN’s Human Rights Council started in 2006 – and has done nothing to advance human rights. The U.S. was opposed to the Counsel from day one, with former Ambassador John Bolton voicing opposition to its creation. (RELATED: UN Calls American Police Officers ‘Racial Terrorists’).

While the State Department has not confirmed the pull-out, they did say in a statement to The Independent that the U.S. wants “a Human Rights Council that fulfills its purpose as the premier international focal point for human rights issues.” The U.S. has also threatened to pull out of the UN’s Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), citing anti-Israel bias in that case too.

While liberals are portraying this as America “stepping away from the international community” – in reality, it’s an acknowledgment that we shouldn’t be part of a human rights council that boasts membership from countries that are among the worst human rights violators on the planet.

    The UN is no longer serving the same purpose it was established to do. It has been over-run by the Middle East. Just look at the rhetoric. They made IRAN the head of women’s rights … HELLO !! WE need to make our stand, leave, and take our Support ($$) with us. (Keep them in our sites)

    Like the League of nations before it, the UN has lost its way in the past 50 years. As more and more nations have joined the major nations of the west, it has become segmented, segregated and has formed intractable cliques based on hatred, on religious difference, on political differences and on power perceptions.
    Solving the problems and addressing the issues facing mankind across this planet have taken a back seat to the these cliques.
    As an American, my questions is as follows, might our routine 25% of the total UN budget be better served, addressing the issue we know to be more important to the goals America has codified into law with in our constitution rather then turning billions over to the UN where it has been used for so many thing nit at all in the American spirit or law.
    For me as a person, I would much rather see the nation with draw from this convoluted and fundamentally racist organization, and allow America to us the billions comparable to those we have given to the UN, and support those agencies we know serve the world in ways we know are productive. The ship, HOPE, that sails the world functioning as a floating hospital, the Red Cross, who could be there in all international catastrophes as they occur, ad other similar organizations.
    America is both giving, wants to be of help, has a compassionate mindsed, supports human rights generally, and since world war 2 has be the world leader in giving, assisting and helping be it with food and water, shelter and medicine or even assisting in rebuilding towns and cities destroyed by catastrophes.
    We, the USA, do not need the world to assist us in this providing of American generosity. We know about giving. What we need to do, is to define our priorities, apply the solutions, and sit back and watch as our tax payer funds go tho those things of need around the world. be it potable water in desert nations, to house hold heating units in the colder climbs. We have so many fine American providers to copy and to ask to lead that way in so many cases. lets use Americans to spend and provide those basics needed by our friends across the globe, rather then be confined in an increasingly fragmented and useless UN.
