Senators Caught on Hot Mic Blasting President Trump – ‘I Think He’s Crazy’

Senators Susan Collins (R) and Jack Reed (D) were caught on a hot mic discussing the federal budget, mocking President Trump as being unfamiliar with the process, and accusing him of being “crazy.”

Collins, a long time Republican squish, has been a thorn in the side of GOP members trying to repeal and replace Obamacare, as well as efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. But these comments are a bridge too far.

She mocked the President saying, “I don’t think he knows there is a [Budget Control Act] or anything.”

Reed took it a step further, questioning Trump’s mental state.

“I think — I think he’s crazy,” he can be heard saying in reference to the President. “I mean, I don’t say that lightly and as a kind of a goofy guy.”

Collins concurred, “I’m worried.”

Listen to the incredible exchange below …

Via the Hill:

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) was caught on a hot mic on Tuesday expressing concern over President Trump’s mental health and questioning his understanding of the budget process.

In a conversation with Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), the Maine Republican said of the president’s budget proposal that “whenever there was a grant, they just X-ed it out, with no metric, no thinking about it, no nothing. I mean it’s just incredibly irresponsible.” …

… Reed responded to Collins by saying, of Trump: “He’s crazy.”

Collins can be heard quietly saying, “I’m worried.”

When the Senate introduced a straight repeal bill for Obamacare, Collins was one of a very few Republicans to oppose an issue that voters strongly urged their representatives to tackle.

These latest comments seem to confirm this tweet from a few weeks ago:

She also made snide comments about President Trump’s penchant for commenting on the Russia investigation.

“He should not say anything further about the special counsel, his staff or the investigation,” Collins said. “I know it’s hard, but he needs to step back and not comment.”

Last summer, she became the most senior member of Congress to announce that she would refuse to vote for Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

Which begs the question, why bother referring to yourself as a Republican any longer?

Should Susan Collins stop pretending to be a Republican if she can’t support Republican platforms or the party’s president? Tell us what you think below!

  1. U.S. Presidents who were Boy Scouts as a kid: John F. Kennedy – Gerald Ford – George W Bush – Bill Clinton – Barack Obama

People who were NEVER BOY SCOUTS: Donald Trump

Donald Trump embarrassed himself with his Boy Scout Jamboree MESS OF A Speech. Instead of giving the young American boys an uplifting speech about American values he gave a PETTY speech about his perceived slights.

He won’t last long. He is disgusting but I do wish he would get off the Methamphetamine Drugs.

Bad having a Drug Addict as a President.

  2. ms Collins you are a despicable person you don’t even know how to be a good republican at all so why not try to join the democrats that is now known as the most corrupt party in history but better still since you seem to be so shaky all the time in your body and its really showing , so maybe you just might think about retiring because I’m pretty sure you wont get voted in again anyway

  3. What has happened to all the patriotism that was taught when I was a child. We learned in school to never disrespect our President and our country. My momma would have slapped me into the next county if I ever would have said the President was crazy, or disrespected Vice President, the flag or the country…and I would have followed tradition with my children. All these unpatriotic twits need to be replaced with real people.
