During his first address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night, President Donald J. Trump honored the widow of fallen Navy SEAL Ryan Owens, and she received a sustained, heartfelt standing ovation that lasted over two minutes, non-stop.
While most of the attendees at President Trump’s speech paid tribute to Owens’ widow, several prominent Democrats disgracefully remained seated during the applause.
After the president’s speech, far-left filmmaker Michael Moore rushed over to MSNBC to attack the tribute, “as sort of an ‘f-you’ to the people who are criticizing him for this [the Yemen raid]. And this poor woman, this widow who has lost her husband, she is in desperate grief right now. And to use that to put another notch in his belt and what is he thinking about? ‘My ratings. Record Applause. I’m going to get an Emmy for this, most applause for a dead soldier on my watch!’ This is the sickness of this man.”

After hearing these shameful comments, the widow of another fallen Navy SEAL, Taya Kyle, whose husband ‘American Sniper’ Chris Kyle was murdered in 2013, took exception to Moore’s disgraceful comments, appearing on Fox News’ The First 100 Days to sound off on the liberal filmmaker’s comments:
“You ask about my feelings about what Michael Moore said. It makes me sick to my stomach. It makes me angry, because he’s saying two things when he says that. A, she’s a fool and doesn’t know she’s being used and that’s ridiculous and couldn’t be farther from the truth. And it’s also saying that this wasn’t warranted and that in some way this has to be political.
Speaking to host Martha MacCallum, Kyle said that liberals who call Trump’s tribute to Owens a political stunt “totally negates the meaning behind this. And the meaning of it – for all the people watching who cried with her – is that some valiant people are out there fighting, not for Republicans, not for Democrats. They’re fighting for this country. And God bless them for doing it.”

It’s easy for someone like Michael Moore, who has never served this country, to sit back and complain about President Trump honoring the sacrifice that Navy SEAL Owens made. While vile leftists joined Moore’s attack on Trump for honoring Owens’ widow, the average American, and millions of veterans across the country saw Moore’s comments to be shameful and yet another example of why Democrats lost the 2016 election.
Liberals like Moore are so out of touch that they don’t realize such comments turn off millions of hard-working Americans and only help to strengthen President Trump’s support across the country.
