Joy Behar Defends Maxine Waters After She’s Accused Of Inciting Violence – ‘I Don’t Think’ She Meant It

Joy Behar was quick to defend Rep. Maxine Waters on “The View” after the Democratic  congresswoman was accused of inciting violence in Minneapolis, Minnesota over the weekend, when she urged protesters to get “more confrontational.”

“We’ve got to stay on the street and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business,” Waters said as she spoke about what will happen if Derek Chauvin is not convicted of the death of George Floyd.

Waters added that while she is “hopeful” Chauvin will be convicted of murder, she then said that if he isn’t, “we cannot go away,” according to Fox News.

Behar Defends Waters

Though Behar was one of the people leading the charge against former President Donald Trump when he was accused of inciting violence back in January, she immediately defended Waters.

“I don’t think that Maxine meant anything by that except to say, ‘You have to stick with it, you have to be there.’” Behar said. “But Democrats have to be twice as smart and twice as thoughtful as Republicans.”

“Because Republicans will say whatever they want and they get away with it. Whereas Democrats, one little thing like this and they jump all over her,” she added.

Not stopping there, Behar claimed that Waters only faced so much backlash because she “doesn’t have a cult following.”

“No, she’s fine, as far as I’m concerned,” Behar told her cohost Whoopi Goldberg, who also defended Waters.

Goldberg Defends Waters

“After four years of real race-baiting, I have to say I’m a little bit surprised that some Republicans would think that people wouldn’t recognize the difference,” Goldberg said.

“I just want to read this to you ‘If nothing happens, then we know we have not only to stay in the street, we have to fight for justice, but I’m hopeful we will get a guilty verdict.’ I just want to make sure that you heard what she said because that’s not calling for confrontation,” she later added.

“Now people are saying, ‘Well, we should get Maxine Waters fired,'” Goldberg continued. “Okay, I don’t believe that’s the way to go. I don’t think people should get fired. I think people should get fired up when they see things that are wrong. You don’t need to burn stuff down. Peaceful protesting works.”

  1. The dumbed-down, Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V, indoctrinated, Trump-obsessed, GOP et al.-obsessed, Proud Boys-obsessed, cud-chewer posts yet another mindless, unoriginal rant. Like a homely, teenybopper schoolgirl who didn't get asked to the prom, the dumbed-down, liberal cud-chewer rants and raves non-stop uncontrollably. Hilarious.

  2. Proud Boys’ pretrial release is over after judge finds new Jan. 6 evidence compels detention
The walls closed in a little tighter this week on the Proud Boys accused of conspiring to lead the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
A federal judge ordered the two key figures in the conspiracy—Ethan Nordean of Auburn, Washington, and Joe Biggs of Ormond Beach, Florida, both major figures in the far-right street-brawling organization—returned to prison to await their trials on multiple felony charges, including conspiracy to “stop, delay, or hinder Congress’s certification of the Electoral College vote.”

  3. I tend to take people at their word. What Maxine said was a clear incitement for more & continued violence and trying to walk that back is insulting to the rest of us who are held accountable by laws against inciting violence. If any of us had said the same we would have been arrested already. The elite ruling class uses its privileged status to get away with far too much and its time to call it to a screeching halt. Maxine meant every word she spoke and must be held to a higher standard because of her position.

6 Jan Liberals – HE DIDN'T MEAN PEACEFUL! HE DIDN'T MEAN IT AT ALL! HE WANTED PEOPLE TO DIE!
21 Apr Liberals – WATERS WAS JUST SPEAKING AS IS HER RIGHT! YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HER YOU BIGOT! HOW CAN YOU BE SO RACIST AS TO SAY HER WORDS MEAN WHAT THE WORDS ARE!?!?

Joy need not tell me she doesn't think. I know she doesn't think with a mind astute enough to know her own words are filled with hate mongering rather than logic. Thus, she usually spouts venom comparable to Waters brand of hate mongering for political intent.

  6. I don't think Derek Chauvin meant it, either—-to kill George Floyd. He was just trying to hold him in place for Floyd's own safety, as he was thrashing around, until paramedics arrived. There, so now we're equal.

  7. There is far more evidence that Waters meant what she said than that Trump intentionally or unintentionally incited a riot. Actually there is evidence that the “Capital Insurrection” was a deliberately staged event to tarnish Trump.

But what is good for the gander is good for the goose and Waters should be impeached and removed from office

  8. The two of the biggest mouths in the United States just can't shut the h up. The two Hippocrates Maxine Waters and Joy Behar. Joy Behar should keep her fat noes out of Politics and Maxine Waters should be Expelled out of Congress. That would be one step closer to peace in America.

  9. Officer Chauvin didn't mean it either yet the hate filled mob formed and mob rule and mob intimidation / "justice " prevailed The cadaverous hag should be tarred and feathered .and exiled from civilized society .
