Joe Biden Goofs Again In DNC Speech: ‘There’s Never Been Anything We’ve Been Able To Accomplish When We’ve Done It Together’

During his acceptance speech at the 2020 Democratic national convention Thursday night, Joe Biden had another hallmark misstep when he told the audience that there has “never been anything we’ve been able to accomplish when we’ve done it together.”

Finishing out his party’s convention, Biden said America is facing four crises, which he is better suited than President Donald Trump to address.

Biden lays out four challenges

Biden said those challenges are, “the worst pandemic in over 100 years. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The most compelling call for racial justice since the ’60s, and the undeniable realities and just accelerating threats of climate change.”

Biden said toward the end of his speech, “I believe there’s only one way forward, as United America — a United America. United in our pursuit of a more perfect union. United in our dreams of a better future for us and for our children. United in our determination to make the coming years bright.”

Whoops: ‘There’s never been anything we’ve been able to accomplish when we’ve done it together’

“Are you ready? I believe we are,” Biden continued. “This is a great nation. We’re a good and decent people. For Lord’s sake, this is the United States of America.”

Biden then said, mistakenly, “There’s never been anything we’ve been able to accomplish when we’ve done it together.”

According to the transcript, the line should have read, “And there has never been anything we’ve been unable to accomplish when we’ve done it together.”

Looking at the transcript, it was clear Biden began to stumble even earlier. Where the former vice president was supposed to say “As a united America,” he skipped the word “a” and corrected himself by repeating the line with the correct article.

DNC fixes Biden’s flub in transcript

The Democratic National Committee shared the clip with an incorrect transcript, which fixes Biden’s speech mistake

“This is our moment. This is our mission,” the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee continued.

“May history be able to say that the end of this chapter of American darkness began here tonight as love and hope and light join in the battle for the soul of the nation,” Biden finished.
