The Polar Ocean Challenge has proven to be more of a challenge than its leader thought.
David Hempleman-Adams is leading a boat expedition in an attempt to prove that global warming is real, and that because of melting ice it is possible to circumnavigate the North Pole by sea. As he says on the project’s website:
We are sailing around the Arctic, around the North Pole to demonstrate that due to progressive sea ice recession due to Arctic climate change, this is now possible during one season. We hope that the ‘success’ of this expedition will draw attention to the issues surrounding the changing Arctic landscape, and is a call to the world to ‘Navigate the Future of the Arctic Responsibly’
I think that he put “success” in quotes because no matter the outcome they will inevitably call the mission a success, even though right now it is proving to be a spectacular failure.
According to The Daily Caller, sailing around the Arctic is NOT “possible during one season,” as they are seeking to prove, because the expedition has been stopped due to ice:
There has been one small hiccup thus-far though: they are currently stuck in Murmansk, Russia because there is too much ice blocking the North East passage the team said didn’t exist in summer months, according to Real Climate Science.
Real Climate Science also provides a graph showing that current Arctic temperatures — despite alarmist claims of the Arctic being hotter than ever — is actually below normal.
The Polar Ocean Challenge team is not the first global warming expedition to be faced with icy troubles. In 2013, an Antarctic research vessel named Akademik Shokalskiy became trapped in the ice, the problem was so severe that they actually had to rescue the 52 crew members.
In 2015 a Canadian ice breaking ship, the CCGS Amundsen, was forced to reroute and help a number of supply ships that had become trapped by ice.
It’s funny how models and predictions of global warming are proven wrong time and time again. They’ve cried wolf so many times that the public doesn’t believe them and is apathetic about “climate change.”
But that doesn’t matter to alarmists, in fact it makes them even more extreme. Proponents of man-made climate change are so desperate to impose their ideology that they want to round up and send those who don’t march in lockstep with their views to jail.
Well, I say we round up and send all these climate alarmists on a slow boat to the North Pole!
