Trump Doubles Down On Wall As Caravan of Hondurans Head to the U.S.

President Trump mocked Democrats’ refusal to support a border wall as news of a new migrant caravan moving from Central America toward the U.S. border has surfaced.

The new caravan consists of hundreds of Honduran migrants. It is a much smaller group than had previously tried to cross the American border, though it should be noted the ranks of that caravan swelled as the group traveled onward.

President Trump has repeatedly vowed to stop caravans coming from Central America, even sending troops to reinforce the border.

On Tuesday, he took to social media to remind Democrats that these invading forces can’t be stopped with one approach, such as drones.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other ranking members of her party have insisted on using drones and other high-tech methods to secure the border, without any actual physical impediment in place.

The President said they need an all-around approach that includes the wall.

Trump previously warned of the Honduran caravan, telling reporters “we’re trying to break it up,” but that “it’s bigger than anything we’ve seen.”

“A drone isn’t going to stop it and a sensor isn’t going to stop it, but you know what’s going to stop it in its tracks?” the President asked. “A nice, powerful wall.”

They Are a Threat

While the media repeatedly mocked President Trump for viewing other migrant caravans as a threat to our nation, including Fox News Shepard Smith, the reality on the ground paints a different picture.

Reports surfaced of some migrants having guns and explosives on their person during the earlier attempts to breach the border, while others noted some were afflicted with communicable diseases.

The President’s warnings still stand from that threat to this one.

“Anybody entering the United States illegally will be arrested and detained, prior to being sent back to their country!” he said, following up with a specific threat to those countries who failed to stop the migrants from trying to gain entry to the U.S.

It’s Not About Asylum

The political left – both in the Democrat Party and the mainstream media – want you to believe these caravans are composed of women and children fleeing violence in their countries to gain asylum in America.

Yet, Reuters spoke to 24-year-old caravan member Darwin Perez, who said, “I’m determined to find a good job in the United States.”

If it isn’t about jobs, it’s about money. Migrants from the previous caravan filed a lawsuit against President Trump and other government entities claiming their constitutional rights were infringed upon.

Still, others demanded a $50,000 payment to each member of the caravan for their troubles.

These migrants will continue trying to poke holes in the border until an actual physical barrier is erected, aided by Democrats and a compliant media. If the wall is built, any and all true asylum seekers will be funneled through proper ports of entry to legally claim asylum or to legally apply to become an immigrant.

With the latest caravan, Trump may use it to justify the national-emergency option to build the wall on his own, without Congress’s support. We’ll have to wait and see how Trump reacts.
