Fox News anchor Shepard Smith mocked President Trump and those concerned about the migrant caravan headed for the U.S. border, claiming it poses no threat to our nation.
Smith downplayed the threat of having thousands of unvetted illegals cross into the border, despite knowledge of high-profile cases such as Kate Steinle, despite knowledge of potential infiltration by individuals from the Middle East or MS-13 animals, despite profiles of migrants accused of serious crimes.
Instead, Smith left his head firmly entrenched in his backside, choosing to remain blissfully unaware of the dangers posed by allowing an invasion of illegals to overrun the southern border.
“We’re America. We can handle it,” Smith said on Monday adding, “But tomorrow is one week before the midterm election, which is what all of this is about.”
In full condescension mode, Smith then announced “There is no invasion. No one’s coming to get you. There’s nothing at all to worry about.”

Trump sends the military to the border
The caravan was offered asylum in Mexico, something they rejected.
As with any other invasion and threat to a country, President Trump has deployed over 5,000 troops to the border in an attempt to stop the illegal onslaught.
The President explained the very real threat in simple terms so that even somebody like Shepard Smith could understand:
Many Gang Members and some very bad people are mixed into the Caravan heading to our Southern Border. Please go back, you will not be admitted into the United States unless you go through the legal process. This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!

There are criminals in the caravan
Aside from potential infiltration from Middle Easterners and gang members, there are also individual cases demonstrating that, yes, bad people are mixed into the caravan.
Earlier this week, the caravan was halted due to reports that a child had been abducted. In another segment on Smith’s own network (clearly he didn’t watch), Griff Jenkins interviewed a caravan member who joined because he was trying to escape attempted murder charges.
That seems like something to worry about, Shep.
Hannity takes on Smith
After Smith criticized hosts on his own network as pure “entertainment,” Sean Hannity responded by describing Smith in the best fashion possible – clueless.
“While Shep is a friend with political views I do not share, and great at breaking news,” Hannity explained, “he is clueless about what we do every day.”
Laura Ingraham also slammed him for saying she and Hannity aren’t real reporters.
Always liked Shep, but his comments were inconsiderate & inaccurate. The hard working team at the Ingraham Angle does real reporting, develops impt sources and scores big interviews. Very proud of them. https://t.co/3aR1EHAK3Z

Smith won praise from liberal pundits after he ran a pro-Hillary segment on his show, defending her in the wake of the Uranium One scandal.
Viewers started a narrative to ship Smith to CNN where his inaccurate left-wing commentary and opinion show (not reporting) would be more warmly received.
