Texas has cut all Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood following an investigation into scandalous videos showing the sale of aborted baby body parts.

The videos that sparked the investigation were released this summer by the Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life group.
“The State has determined that you and your Planned Parenthood affiliates are no longer capable of performing medical services in a professionally competent, safe, legal and ethical manner,” reads a letter from Inspector General Stuart Bowen to be sent to the organization.
The videos showed that workers at the Houston office of Planned Parenthood have routinely altered their abortion process to preserve fetal organs for sale and have allowed private citizens into the lab wearing only gloves, all of which are “program violations that justify termination,” according to Inspector General Bowen’s office.

Governor Greg Abbott called it “another step in providing greater access to safe healthcare for women while protecting our most vulnerable – the unborn,” trumpeted the move on social media.
The move makes Texas the fourth state to cut Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood while three more states – Arkansas, Alabama, and Louisiana are fighting legal challenges to do the same.
“Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast has been a trusted healthcare provider for nearly 80 years,” Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Rochelle Tafolla told reporters. “More than ever it is clear that efforts to block patients from accessing care at Planned Parenthood through Medicaid are politically motivated. They clearly have nothing to do with the well-being of the women and men in Houston and southeast Texas.”
