MAGA Rep. Boebert Returns Fire After Pelosi Tells Her To ‘Shut Up’ About Biden’s Afghanistan Disaster

On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that Republican Reps. Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene needed to “shut up” during President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address.

Boebert, however, shrugged off Pelosi’s harsh rebuke and, instead doubled down on her outburst after receiving feedback from a fallen service member’s mother.

Pelosi made her remarks during a Thursday press conference after being asked by a reporter about the incident.

Pelosi on Boebert and Greene heckling Biden during State of the Union: ‘They should just shut up’

A reporter for Business Insider asked Pelosi what she thought of the “outbursts” from Boebert and Greene during the State of the Union address.

“Let me just say this, I agree with what [Republican South Carolina] Sen. Lindsey Graham said, ‘shut up,’” Pelosi responded.

“That’s what he said to them,” she followed up. “I think they should just shut up.”

During his address on Tuesday, President Joe Biden spoke of veterans exposed to burn pits developing “cancer that would put them in a flag draped coffin.”

Boebert shouted, “You put them in, 13 of them!”

Boebert was referring to the 13 service members killed in August, 2021 from a suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan. Many critics contend that the messy way the Biden administration withdrew U.S. forces from that country contributed to those deaths.

The next day she discussed what motivated her “13 of them” outburst in a lengthy interview with Clay Travis and Buck Sexton.

During the interview, Boebert noted, “The mother of one of those soldiers lives in my district and she told me that Joe Biden killed her son.”

Graham seemed to mouth “shut up” during their heckling, while Democrats booed.

Boebert and Greene also chanted “Build that Wall!” when Biden said the U.S. needed a secure southern border.

Boebert responded to Pelosi’s “shut up” remarks in a tweet on Thursday, writing, “So Fancy Nancy is upset about me speaking out at the State of the Union.”

“What’s she so torn up about?” she added alongside a GIF of Pelosi ripping up former President Donald Trump’s speech during his 2019 State of the Union address.

“I will not ‘shut up’ about Biden’s failure in Afghanistan and the 13 heroes we lost because of it,” Boebert added.

Boebert says she would do it again

Not only will Boebert not “shut up”, but the gun-rights activist also says she would “do it again”.

When Fox News’ Laura Ingraham asked Boebert on Wednesday night if she would do the same thing again, the Colorado congresswoman replied that she would “absolutely do it again,” and said Biden was “100 percent responsible” for the deaths of those service members.

Then on Thursday, Boebert took to Twitter to share another reason she should have no regrets despite the backlash.

GOP Rep. Boebert said she received word from a “mutual friend” that the mother of one fallen service member “really appreciated” her speaking out. And that alone was “worth the heat”.

Indeed.
