Bill O’Reilly And Sean Hannity Denounce Roseanne’s Tweet

The Roseanne fallout continues.

The now-former TV star really opened a can of worms when she made a racist joke about former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett. The public repudiation of her comment has been nothing short of massive. (RELATED: ‘Roseanne’ Canceled on ABC After Crude Tweets).

Roseanne lost both her hit ABC show and syndicated reruns of previous episodes of her show. (RELATED: Multiple Networks Pulling ‘Roseanne’ Reruns From Programming).

And it just got worse.

Normally friendly voices to free speech have also denounced Roseanne’s comments, including both former and current Fox News stars.

Bill O’Reilly first weighed in:

Roseanne’s comments may have insulted many Americans, but that, on its face, shouldn’t determine whether someone has their career killed. There were millions of liberals who hated O’Reilly’s guts while he was on Fox News, and demanded that he be fired. Surely Bill can sympathize with someone being hounded by a liberal mob.

Next was Sean Hannity, who also came as a surprise. Here’s what he said on his radio show, via Daily Mail:

Hannity meanwhile addressed the controversy on his daily radio program, saying: ‘It is an outrageous comment. She was right to apologize.’

He went on to say: ‘I think with social media a lot of people just send things out. Especially comedians are always in danger ’cause they just think they’re being funny and they’re not.’

That’s a great point. Roseanne is a comedian. Her joke went too far, but it’s comedians who push the boundaries of polite conversation. Roseanne should have apologized for the tweet and the issue should have been settled. Instead, it will be endlessly litigated from now until President Trump ends his second term.

And still no word yet on why ABC was willing to fire Roseanne but allows the hateful crones of “The View” to still be on the air. (RELATED: ‘Roseanne’ Canceled; Why Not ‘The View’?).
