Under Attack From the Left, Trey Gowdy Might Have Found Benghazi Key

While on Face the Nation on CBS, Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi Trey Gowdy made an important point regarding the investigation into the attacks in Benghazi two months before President Obama’s reelection.

The previous investigations into the attack which resulted in the death of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, never received Stevens’ emails for review. Gowdy said Stevens asked for security after he became Ambassador in June 2012, but his concerns and requests fell upon deaf ears as the State Department refused to provide adequate protection.

And the point Gowdy makes about Stevens’ emails is an important one. The Ambassador was requesting security, yet Hillary and her staff didn’t listen to him. Stevens was the first Ambassador to be slain on duty since 1979. And it happened on Hillary’s watch after he requested protection. That is certainly worthy of an investigation and Gowdy made an important point about the importance of those emails.

“If we want a window into Libya and what was happening in the weeks and months before these four were killed, why would you not look at the ambassador’s emails? He was a prolific emailer.”

Following the attacks, the Obama administration falsely blamed the deaths on a video that offended and incited terrorists. Emails from Chris Stevens prove that was not the case at all and are imperative to the investigation.

Why do you believe the State Department didn’t provide Stevens with the security he requested? Do you think it had something to do with President Obama’s reelection? Please comment below.
