Hosts and politicians on “CBS This Morning” Tuesday noted that Hunter Biden’s recent interview with ABC News was a bad look for his father’s campaign and on noted that it made Hunter “look guilty.”
Hunter spoke to ABC’s Amy Robach in an exclusive interview that aired partially on “Good Morning America” Tuesday. The interview delved into Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine and how it could hurt former Vice President Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
Co-host Anthony Mason wondered aloud on CBS if Joe Biden will have to answer questions about his son’s Ukraine dealings during Tuesday’s Democratic debate, and co-host Tony Dokoupil noted that Hunter “may have handed some spears to the opposition with an interview today.”
“Look, he did profit off of his father’s name,” Terry Sullivan, a CBS News political contributor and Marco Rubio’s former campaign adviser said. “You know, at least he’s taking responsibility for it, but it does look kind of awful – if I was sitting next to Hunter Biden, what I’d say is, ‘Don’t ever go on TV again, ever. You look awful. You look guilty.’ You know? ”
Sullivan’s comments came after Even Mook, a Democratic strategist and Hillary Clinton’s campaign strategist for her 2016 presidential campaign, suggested that Hunter’s actions are “nothing compared to” what President Donald Trump and his family has done. Mook suggested that Hunter Biden needs to “buck up” and deal with the repercussions of the accusations.
“Sadly, look, these things are really hard. I don’t think this is going away,” Mook said. “And there’s no perfect solution. The campaign’s just got to manage through it.”
“Look, if I were sitting next to Hunter Biden right now, I’d say, ‘Buck up, my friend.’ I mean, what – what happened here is nothing compared to what the Trump family has done.”
Hunter Biden admitted Tuesday morning to Robach that perhaps he did make a mistake in serving on the Ukrainian gas company’s board. However, he asserted that the mistake was not due to “some unethical lapse.”
Trump has hit back at Joe Biden and accused him of using his position as Vice President to pressure Ukrainian officials into firing its top prosecutor who was investigating the gas company that Hunter sat on the board of.
This comes after an August whistleblower complaint, largely based on a July 25 phone call, alleged that the president asked Ukrainian officials to look into Joe Biden and his son.

Even at the expense of the taxpayers $$$$??? There is helping your child to prepare for a job and job interview but that job should ONLY be given to the best person....and here is the key word(s)....best and most qualified for that job. Hunter did not have the qualifications to be in this position but "Daddy Joe" made sure those who were talking to Hunter KNEW WITHOUT A DOUBT that Hunter was qualified for ANY position they had and what his salary amount needed to be - Just like Hellary did for daughter Chelsea when she was working at NBC and making over $600,000 a year for doing NOTHING!!!!!!! Plus during this interview Hunter looked as if he took a couple of "hits" of something before going on air - look at those eyes!!!!
Impersonating an intelligent man who does not need Daddy to be successful.
Ask that same question to yourself when you are accusing the "Trump" children of being like "Daddy Joe's" children. Please enlighten me and others as to what and when Donald Trump/President Trump's children were handed positions/and money because Donald Trump used his influence of money or his position as President of the United States to help his children like "Touchy Feely Daddy Joe" did and has done.
HaHaHaHaHa!!!!
Now THAT is RICH!!! Please....cite or give resources of your evidence re: the Trump children and President Trump going on a witch hunt....you may have that statement mixed up with the entire Democrat "mob" party.
DITTO 100%!!!
I agree with what you are saying - there are thieves among thieves in the politics in the United States and throughout the world and it is disgusting while being so very sad. I only wanted to mention that if you have ever looked up the word Democratic and read the meaning of it, I know you would NEVER use that word again when referring to the Democrats (socialists/communists) in the United States Congress. To say "democratic democrats" is truly an Oxymoron of the Oxymoron's!! Giggle!!! Have a great day!
It seems ridiculous to ask a group of senators and representatives to vote on whether they can keep their jobs, or not. Since they never will vote to have term limits, why bother? It's just throwing more money down the Washington rat hole.
Once again, Trump's kids were in business BEFORE he was President. I see nothing wrong with helping you kids get established in business, but Trump didn't use his position as President of the US to set them up in business like Biden did. He even flew him to China on Air Force 2 where Hunter's private equity firm secured $1.5 billion from the Bank of China.
Just what did Trumps kids do that was illegal? They were in business BEFORE Trump was president of this country whereas, Biden used his political influence as Vice President of the United States and his NAME to get his son on the board of Burisma which Hunter had absolutely ZERO knowledge or experience for a very lucrative salary of $50K per month. He also flew him on Air Force 2 to China where Hunter Biden's private equity firm secured a $1.5 billion sweetheart deal from the state-owned Bank of China just 10 days after he and his father visited China. What's wrong with that picture?????
