On Wednesday, ABC’s Whoopi Goldberg went on a disjointed rant in response to Rep. Lauren Boebert heckling Biden during his State of the Union address over the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of the 13 American soldiers in a terrorist attack at Kabul airport.
Among other things, Goldberg accused Boebert and former President Donald Trump of “pooping” on the military.
Goldberg made her remarks during a discussion on her popular talk show “The View.”
The co-hosts watched a clip of Boebert heckling the President on Tuesday during his first State of the Union address.
Goldberg reacted, “She doubled down on Twitter saying she couldn’t stay silent about this. I have to say, you’re probably about 35 years old, and maybe you don’t understand that a whole lot of folks over the last seven or eight years have been sent to their death for no good reason.”
“Soldiers know what’s coming,” Goldberg said. “They don’t want to die.”
Goldberg said that Boebert should have been more respectful.
“What you should do is you should have let him say what he had to say,” Goldberg said concerning Biden and his speech. “If you were going to yell something out, just hold off, hold off, but don’t do it there because we’re trying to hear it, and we’re talking about you instead of what he had to say.”
Of course, Goldberg and “The View” could have ignored Boebert. They made a conscious choice to talk about her rather than the President’s speech.
“The View” host then accused Boebert and former President Donald Trump of putting “poop” on the U.S. military.
“Don’t talk about the military unless you really want to talk about the military. You can’t do what they do,” she insisted. “That’s why we revere them because they do the stuff we can’t do.”
As is typical of “The View,” they couldn’t let a segment go by without touching on their favorite subject, Donald Trump.
“And the minute you poop on them, you poop on them like the last guy did, talking about those Gold Star families, talking about Mr. McCain as not being a hero,” she said. “Who the hell do you think you are, little girl? Who do you think you are?”
“You know you don’t have to like this president to be respectful of him talking about the military and his son who died,” Goldberg said referring to Biden’s late veteran son, Beau Biden. “You don’t have to do that.”
“You don’t have to like him, but you must be respectful,” she finished. “You got to be.”
