President Trump left a press conference as reporters repeatedly tried to get him to condemn the action of supporters in Portland who shot paintballs at protesters.
An Antifa supporter in Portland has been identified as a suspect in the murder of Patriot Prayer’s Aaron ‘Jay’ Danielson, a supporter of President Trump, over the weekend.
For whatever reason, the media is hell-bent on focusing on a pro-Trump “caravan” that allegedly drove through Portland shooting paintballs as justification for the murder.
CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins repeatedly questioned Trump about the paintball incident, as well as pressing him on the case of Kyle Rittenhouse, who killed two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin in an altercation that his lawyers claim to be self-defense.
“I notice you did not mention that your supporters were also in Portland this weekend firing paintball guns at people, some form of pepper spray, so do you want to also take this chance to condemn what your supporters did in Portland this weekend?” Collins asked.
President Trump fired back suggesting paintballs are a “defense mechanism” and telling Collins that the people who shot the young man in Portland are the media/left’s supporters.
“Paint is a defensive mechanism. Paint is not bullets,” he replied. “Your supporters – and they are your supporters – shot a young gentleman, not with paint but with a bullet. And I think it’s disgraceful.”
Not content with being embarrassed on that topic, Collins pivoted to Rittenhouse and asked about one of the President’s supporters shooting people with bullets.
“It was a supporter of yours, Mr. President. It was a supporter of yours, Mr. President. It was a supporter of yours, Mr. President, who killed someone – who’s accused of killing two people,” she ranted as Trump turned to another reporter. “It was a supporter of yours.”
Was Rittenhouse a Trump supporter or just a teenager who saw violence in his city and decided to try and defend local businesses from arson and looting?
As President Trump left the conference, having answered a couple of other questions, Collins can be heard shouting for him to finish answering her.
“Mr. President I’d like to finish my question if you could come back please since you did not let me finish my question, Mr. President,” she yelled.
Cue the sad trombone.
Collins whined on her network following the press conference that, “I couldn’t even really ask him a fully-formed question.”
Except, you did, and he answered it.
Earlier in the day, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany batted away similar efforts by the media to suggest the Trump supporter in Portland deserved to be killed because other people were firing paintballs.
McEnany noted that the violence didn’t start with paintballs this past weekend. It’s been raging in Portland due to feckless Democrat leadership in the city for months.
A man was murdered in cold blood in Portland and the media is justifying it because of paintballs. Two people were killed in self-defense in Kenosha and the media is condemning and convicting a teenager as a cold-blooded murderer.
