President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that this country is in a “culture war,” and Republicans must “toughen up” or face difficult elections.

Trump: Cancel Culture Is “The Very Definition Of Totalitarianism”

In his 4th of July weekend speech at Mount Rushmore, President Trump slammed the leftists mobs that are attacking memorials across the country, decrying the “left-wing cultural revolution” that we are facing right now. The President then attacked “cancel culture,” one of their “political weapons,” as “the very definition of totalitarianism.”

“It is completely alien to our culture and our values, and it has absolutely no place in the United States of America,” President Trump said. “This attack on our liberty, our magnificent liberty, must be stopped, and it will be stopped very quickly.  We will expose this dangerous movement, protect our nation’s children, end this radical assault, and preserve our beloved American way of life.”

He expanded on these themes in an interview with Real Clear Politics on Wednesday, telling them that the actions from the left right now are nothing less than a full blown “culture war.” The President then warned that “if the Republicans don’t toughen up and get smart and get strong and protect our heritage and protect our country,” they will have “a very tough election.”

The Rhetoric Is Good, But We Must Also Enact Real Change Too

This is exactly what I want to hear from President Trump. He always speaks best when tackling issues that the neocons, RINOs, and other establishment types refuse to address, not when talking about the economy or tax cuts. The Republicans have been strong on the economy for decades, but that isn’t what matters now. This is what matters.

President Trump not only needs to continue this rhetoric, and engaging in the culture war, but also affecting real change, not just words. If the Republicans take back the House this year, especially with more pro-America First candidates, then we absolutely must root out the left and face them full on, or we will fall into ruin.
