Trump To Shift $7.2 Billion In Funding From Pentagon To Border Wall

According to documents seen by the Washington Post, President Trump will transfer another $7.2 billion from the Pentagon to fund the border wall.

Billions for the Wall!

The Washington Post obtained “internal planning figures” regarding the construction, organization and funding of the southern border wall, and found that the President was planning on moving $7.2 billion from the Pentagon to fund the wall instead. This is five times what Congress had authorized for the 2020 budget.

“The Pentagon funds would be extracted, for the second year in a row, from military construction projects and counternarcotics funding,” the article reads. “According to the plans, the funding would give the government enough money to complete about 885 miles of new fencing by spring 2022, far more than the 509 miles the administration has slated for the U.S. border with Mexico.”

Around $3.5 billion would be diverted from “military counterdrug programs” towards funding the border wall, an uptick from the $2.5 billion transferred last year, and $3.7 billion from military construction projects. This would bring the total funding dedicated to the border wall under President Trump to $18.4 billion.

Leftists Will Try and Stop the Funding

Anti-border wall activists have been trying to stop the President from keeping this country safe for some time, so they are not likely to be happy when they hear this news. Multiple lawsuits have been launched in attempt to stop construction of any defences on the southern border.

Keno Vasquez, a state district judge in Hidalgo County, halted the construction of a privately-funded border wall in December, claiming that it would do “imminent and irreparable harm” to a butterfly sanctuary nearby.

“The property and rights involved are unique and irreplaceable, so that it will be impossible to accurately measure, in monetary terms, the damages caused by the Defendants’ conduct,” Vasquez wrote.

David Briones, a judge on the Western Texas Federal District Court ruled in favour of El Paso County and Border Network for Human Rights last December, blocking billions in funding for the official border wall. Briones, who was appointed by Bill Clinton, claimed that the President over-stepped his mark in declaring a national emergency to fund the wall in February last year.

Thankfully, this decision was overturned by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last week – the divided court lifted the funding block put in place by Briones.

Expect many more lawsuits from annoyed pro-migration activists in the coming months – they will stop at nothing to ensure floods of migrants can enter this country with no legal process in place. Let’s hope that the president wins again in 2020 and his actions are not reversed!
