Trump Reportedly Holding Meetings To Start His Own New Social Media Platform

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly hosting meetings with several companies at his Mar-A-Lago resort in preparation to start his own social media platform.

While appearing on Fox News Channel’s Media Buzz on Sunday, former Trump advisor Jason Miller said that the ex-president is “talking to numerous companies” about the creation of a platform that would bring in “tens of millions of people.”

A Whole New Game

During his appearance on Sunday, Miller told Fox News’ Howie Kurtz:

“I do think we’re going to see President Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months here with his own platform. This is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media.”

“It’s going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly President Trump does, but it will be his own platform.”

Trump was barred by the most popular social media sites after the January 6 Capitol Hill riot. Since then, YouTube recently stated that they would lift Trump’s ban “when the risk of incitement to violence abates.”

The former president’s presence on Facebook is being debated by an advisory board to the company, and Twitter has banned him for life.

Miller did not say whether a possible Trump social media platform would be independent or a partnership with any already existing companies.

“But it will be big once he starts,” Miller continued, adding that of the companies that are possibly involved, some have reached out to Trump about potential social media ventures.

Using Alternative Methods To Get The Message Out

Since his ban on most social media platforms, President Trump has found other ways to get his comments out to his supporters in other ways. For example, he has released statements through his post-presidency office and political action committee.

While appearing the premiere episode of Fox News Contributor Lisa Boothe’s podcast, Trump said that statements from his office are “getting picked up much better than any tweet,” and characterized his new approach of reaching his supporters as, “much more elegant.”

In the report from Politico, Trump went on to say that the statements his office issues get “tremendous pickup” from the media.

“I think it’s been very big. I’ve only started doing that over the last three or four weeks,” Trump added. “But the voices out there — I think, maybe in a certain way — may be as big as ever.”

Trump To Be GOP Kingmaker In 2022 And Beyond

Since Donald Trump left the White House, there has been much speculation about what his future plans would be. Whether he will run for re-election in 2024 is not known, but what is known is that Trump plans to be a major influence in the 2022 midterm elections.

Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee Sen Rick Scott (R-FL) said that he has spoken to Trump about how he can assist Republicans in 2022.

“The president has promised to be helpful — help make sure we get back the majority in the Senate — and I’m going to take him up on that,” Scott said. “I’m going to let him know what I’m doing. I’m going to let him know how he can be helpful and then he gets to make those choices.”

President Trump has already begun wielding influence over 2022 Republican candidates. In recent weeks he has endorsed four GOP Senators including Tim Scott of South Carolina, Jerry Moran of Kansas, John Kennedy of Louisiana, and Mike Crapo of Idaho.

Trump has also endorsed former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who has announced she will make a run for Governor of Arkansas.

It is looking more and more like the most coveted endorsement to get for 2022 GOP candidates, either in person or on a possible new social media platform, will be Donald Trump’s.
