A segment that aired on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday featured a father who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
The man who wished to remain anonymous told ABC News reporter Martha Raddatz that he would not have crossed the border so if Donald Trump was still president.
"We're using all our resources."

Illegal Immigrant Says He Would ‘Definitely Not’ Have Crossed Border If Trump Was In Office
The was from Brazil and was accompanied by his wife and children.
Raddatz setup the scene by explaining the man’s circumstances.
“This father who asked we not show his face, traveled to Mexico from Brazil with his wife and three young kids before crossing the border,” Raddatz told the TV audience.
Raddatz was then seen asking the man, “Would you have tried to do this when Donald Trump was president?”
“Definitely not,” the man replied emphatically. “Definitely.”
He continued, “We had the chance, you know, but the same violence that’s going on today was there last year.”
He explained that he and his family monitored the political situation in the United States to see what might be possible or wise.
“We used to watch the news,” he said. “I definitely wouldn’t do this.”

Illegal Immigrant Is Asked If He Crossed The Border Because Biden Was Now President: ‘Basically’
Raddatz then asked the opposite question.
“Did you come here because Joe Biden was elected president?” Raddatz asked.
“Basically. Basically,” the man said.
He added, “The main thing was the violence in my country, and the second thing I think was Joe Biden. You know, it’s like it lightened up my hope, you know what I mean?”
Apparently President Biden has been perceived by many migrants to be more welcoming of those who seek to come into the U.S. illegally, the opposite of how many perceived Donald Trump, at least according to this man.
On March 18, ABC News George Stephanopoulos asked Biden in an interview if he acknowledged there was a border crisis and if the president would be willing to make a stronger statement to potential U.S.-bound migrants.

Biden Said Just Last Week To Illegal Migrants: ‘Don’t Come Over’
Stephanopoulos said directly to Biden, “Do you have to say quite clearly, ‘Don’t come’?”
Biden replied, “Yes, I can say quite clearly: Don’t come over.”
“Don’t leave your town or city or community,” Biden added.
This is obviously a very different message than was heard by the anonymous man from Brazil and his family.
