A story from the early ’90s has resurfaced, involving Donald Trump stopping an active and violent mugging on the side of a New York City street, just hours after liberals mocked him for suggesting he would have run into the Florida high school where 17 people were killed.
The President earlier this week was responding to reports that Broward County deputies and a school resource officer remained outside the Parkland school, hiding behind vehicles while the onslaught took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High.
“You don’t know until you test it, but I think, I really believe I’d run in there, even if I didn’t have a weapon,” Trump stated. “And I think most of the people in this room would have done that too.”
Naturally, liberals didn’t think the President could have ever engaged in such a heroic act and the mockery ensued.

But a story from 1991 resurfaced in the wake of the liberal jokes, and it involves Donald Trump witnessing a violent crime and running toward it, even though he didn’t have a weapon – exactly as he had claimed he would do today.
In the article printed by the New York Daily News, somebody in the former real estate mogul’s limo noticed the mugging, to which Trump told his driver “stop the car because it was brutal-looking.”
The assailant had a baseball bat. Trump had, well … Trump.
People are mocking Trump for saying he’d run into the school to stop the shooter today… BUT in 1991, he had his driver pull over his car to run out of it to stop a mugging.

“The guy with the bat looked at me, and I said, ‘Look, you’ve gotta stop this. Put down the bat,'” Trump told the reporter, who found out about the story through his own research. “I guess he recognized me because he said, ‘Mr. Trump, I didn’t do anything wrong.’ I said, ‘How could you not do anything wrong when you’re whacking a guy with a bat?’ Then he ran away.”
The future president had no way of knowing whether the man he was confronting had a weapon other than the bat. He had no way of knowing he wouldn’t use the bat on him.
He just ran after him, ‘even though he didn’t have a weapon.’
And just like that, those liberal jokes and another narrative went down the drain.

I noticed that Hillary thinks the 1991 story is “fake news” because she couldn’t find it in the Lewiston, Maine Sun Journal. It’s not that “liberals didn’t think the President could have ever engaged in such a heroic act,” it’s that leftists (not liberals) are only interested in constructing damaging narratives for the President and his supporters.

Trump dealt with New York mobster-controlled unions and mobbed up businesses for years. Compared to that, foreign relations is easy. Dealing with the media is another story. But Trump is usually correct and usually wins.

Example: Liberals declare Trump wouldn’t have run into the school. Maybe they reflect on their own character. Often those who are corrupt or cowardly, accuse others of doing what they do or would do. There are records of Trump coming to the rescue of others before. So, no matter what you think or have been told about Trump, he is not a raciest nor a coward. In the seventies, records show he fought a city to allow blacks and Jews into his hotel. Once, unarmed with anything, he accosted a man who was hitting another with a bat. I think the false racist charge, by the DNC (who by proof of emails turns out to be true of the DNC) helped get Trump elected, because the racist voted for him. But the more wise investigated or discerned the truth. They saw through the lie.
Millions of us would have run in. I know I would because I have several times run towards a bad incident and stopped it, once a man was beating his wife on the porch at night, I stopped the car and me and my teenage son ran to the house, he dragged her to the back yard and I picked up a can of hairspray and went after him and sprayed him in his eyes. I have also done the same in other incidents, in fact just this week a boy next door to us was arguing with his weak father and my son and I ran over there and stopped it. My son went in to talk to the man’s son and I locked the man in his RV like he asked to get away from his son. Then I went into talk to him. His son an X con and mean as a snake.
I am proud of Trump, he went to Military Academy from age 13 til ready for college. He is a strong and good man unlike that SOB Obama. Trump was also a Star Athlete.

About 1990 or so, I remember Trump interview in Playboy. Was asked if he would ever run for president. He said no,, then qualified it that only if the country keeps going down the toilet. Well,, it did,,, so he ran. He may be bad tasting medicine, but just the medicine our country needed. I believe God intervened to save us from a Hillary Supreme Court.

I’ve read another story somewhere about Trump jumping into the ocean to save a young kid in distress and later found and chastised the parents for leaving the kid unsupervised.
The majority of NRA members and the majority of Americans and 99 % of police would have charged into the school to try to stop a shooting and to save children. I do not believe for an instant that many, would say that they would, just to show themselves up as a brave hero. Figuring out what is happening is most likely more of an issue than doing something once learned.

The truth is, no one knows how they will react when suddenly confronted with violence. Some people freeze, some just stare, some run away, and some will fight. Just human nature.

Our President is truly one amazing man, who has the heart for those that are persecuted unjustly. Not only this incredible incident in which he risked his safety, testifies to my opinion, but everything he is attempting to accomplish for the American underdog reveals his immense purpose for our good. He has literally rescued us already from the huge, ruthless illegal activities of a very no-good, effete ex-president. It is unbelievable that anyone would really doubt his courage and his intentions. These complaints reveal jealousy, the very spiritual disease that caused satan to be thrown from heaven as God’s favorite.
President Trump did what a Huge majority of American citizens would do. Our moral upbringing and love of our fellow citizens taught us to always offer help when we can and not run and cry behind the building. MAGA

I do believe that Trump would have gone in to that High school without a weapon to save lives. He is not a coward. He has done it before. He has never backed down from any fight since becoming president. I think He is wanting to ending his life on a very good and powerful note despite having a checkered past. We should all give him a second chance.

The reason I believe the president is that I believe I would do the same thing. I would not have cared a fig what my boss was telling me. As an armed deputy I would have ignored his orders and gone in. And every cop I have ever known would have done so as well

Ive rushed the shooter across 100 yards of open ground armed with only a knife because there were minor children being shot at. They ran, got captured by me and my friends, went to jail for 5 years. My wife jumped in a pond at the PHX zoo to save a baby in stroller that rolled into the water while hundreds of people froze my wife jumped in the muck and pulled the baby out, a complete strangers baby. LOTS of people run towards the danger.
