After President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, he got a boost when Rasmussen Reports showed that the President’s approval rating had jumped to 50 percent.
Now that the American people have had a week to think about his speech, he’s going even higher.
“The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance,” Rasmussen reported Monday. “Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove.”
“Trump’s highest level of approval since shortly after his inauguration,” Rasmussen noted. “The latest figures include 39% who Strongly Approve of the job Trump is doing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove.”

How high will Trump’s numbers get?
While it is not unusual for presidents to see a jump in their approval rating after delivering a major address, Trump’s rising popularity is notable when one considers the consistent negative coverage he receives from the mainstream media.
While President Obama might have received negative press from conservative outlets after a State of the Union address, the mainstream media’s coverage was somewhere between mildly critical and positive. With Trump, you will be hard-pressed to find much positive coverage. To watch CNN, MSNBC, or read the New York Times or The Washington Post, it becomes clear that these left-leaning journalists already had their minds made up about the President before he uttered a single word Tuesday night.
And yet, the American people are obviously having a more positive reaction according to these numbers. That he’s getting numbers similar to his highest to date, after his inauguration, is telling.
Heading into 2020, as Democrats seem certain they can unseat this president, will the mainstream media and their liberal allies sabotage themselves by remaining blind to Trump’s popularity? Will the overall American public continue to see things they like about this president that the left will never be able to see?
Keep your eyes on the polls and on how much the left ignores them. President Trump obviously knows something about the American people that the liberal media will never understand, and it shows.
And, more importantly, as the government-funding deadline approaches, this much-needed boost in Trump’s approval should help him in negotiating for his desired border wall.

If you are both retired (62? 65″ , 60? 55?) and draw pensions, that’s a curious mix of unresolved income v. deductions @ $52,000 (higher than the average) for retirees . . . or wage earners. Sounds like you need a new Tax Man . . . and perhaps a new (X) party affiliation . . . !

Well if President Trumps approval ratings are still going up it is because the American people have not gotten their income taxes prepared or done yet in large numbers of people. The tax cuts were suppose to be for the middle class people and so far from what I’m starting to hear a lot on face book is a big share of the people aren’t getting a tax refund but are going to need to pay in which includes me. I am retired both my wife and I we don’t have a big total income between us only about $52,000 a year with our Social security checks, my small pension and the wife’s pension from the state and a meager check from some royalties and a monthly check we are drawing off Edward Jones from our retirement account saved up over the years..We make net $52,000 a year and I have to pay in quarterly $500 to $600 per quarter and now at the end of the year getting my taxes finished up I find that we are still near a $1000.00 short of paying our taxes, We still owe the government. It just doesn’t seem fair or right for what little bit of money that we do make a year that we should still have to pay quarterly between $2,000 to $2400 a year then another $1000.00 to break even with the government at the end of the year…With the new tax breaks that President Trump was saying that majority of the middle class households would receive approx. a $2,000 break in their taxes. Well I failed to see it happen as I’m paying just as much in in taxes this year as I did last year..So I am very disappointed in the tax break that there was so much hype about because it has been a huge failure and the American people are not going to be to very happy about what they are going to see in their taxes this year…So once all of this surfaces it is not going to bode well for the president because it is not even coming close to what he was taking the bows for in supposedly in cutting taxes..This will truly cut into his approval ratings once the tax season comes full circle for the first full year of implementation for people..I did better with my taxes before the new tax break. ..So I am very sore about how this big tax break all played out for me anyway!! The reason for the positive response is that people were able to see Pres. Trump as he really IS, and hear what he really stands for through his SOTU message–instead of the lies and negative spin the “mainstream” media put out 24/7, which is why the Dems wanted so much to STOP him from giving that address!
