After Terrorist Attacked, The Response from THESE Veterans is Awesome!

Citizens of Hiram, Georgia have chosen to rally in solidarity with the military after the shooting in Chattanooga which left five service members dead. Military recruiters are not allowed to carry their own firearms, so these residents began standing watch outside their local recruiting center, as a way to both protect their local recruiters and to honor the troops who were killed in the shooting.

According to Fox 46, Crystal Tewellow, the organizer of this neighborhood watch became emotional:

“I teared up. I think any human being would be touched by what happened yesterday [Friday]. Any U.S. citizen that has a heart and a soul to hear what had happened”

The residents waved flags as they stood outside. People honked as they drove by; others dropped off drinks and food to support the citizens guarding the recruiting center. Many of the people who showed up are veterans, or have family serving in the military. And they brought their own firearms, since the recruiters cannot.

Their goal is to have at least one person standing watch every hour, but the response has been so successful that it seems the organizers won’t have any trouble at all.
