The singer Taylor Swift just launched a truly vile attack on President Donald Trump over the U.S. Postal Service, going so far as to claim that he is trying to cheat his way to a win in November by “dismantling” the federal agency.
“Trump’s calculated dismantling of USPS proves one thing clearly,” Swift tweeted Saturday. “He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president. He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power.”
“Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership gravely worsened the crisis that we are in and he is now taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and vote safely,” she added. “Request a ballot early. Vote early.”
Swift spent years staying silent about politics, which was refreshing to many given how radically liberal most celebrities are. Unfortunately, that all changed in 2018, when Swift “came out” as just another radically leftwing entertainer. Since then, she has frequently attacked Trump and his fellow Republicans. In the process, she has alienated the millions of conservative fans who got her where she is today by supporting her back in the days when she was just a small country music singer.
Back in May, Swift accused Trump of “stoking the fires of white supremacy” and warned that “we will vote you out in November.”
“After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’???” Swift tweeted at the time. “We will vote you out in November.”
Swift opened up more about her political views in her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana.”
“We were in such an amazing time when Obama was president because foreign nations respected us. We were so excited to have this dignified person in the White House,” she said in the Netflix documentary.
“My first election was voting for [Obama] when he made it into office, and then voting to re-elect him,” Swift said. “I think a lot of people are like me, where they just didn’t really know that this could happen. But I’m just focused on the 2020 election.”
“I’m really focused on it,” she added. “I’m really focused on how I can help and not hinder. Because I also don’t want it to backfire again, because I do feel that the celebrity involvement with Hillary’s campaign was used against her in a lot of ways.”
