Late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert took a jab at Kamala Harris, jokingly asking if she viewed kissing up to President Biden as “part of the job” of Vice President after she repeatedly praised his “extraordinary” leadership.

The conversation began innocently enough as the pair joked about the life of a Vice President emulating that of the character Selina Meyer in the HBO comedy “Veep.”

Colbert noted that one of the themes of the show is that the main character, played by actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, is often frustrated by the “vague duties” in her role as Veep.

“Does that ring true?” Colbert asked. “Like, what’s the actual role on a daily basis as you have found it?”

Stephen Colbert Takes a Shot at Kamala Harris

The host of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” may have found Kamala Harris’ response to the question about her role on a daily basis to be somewhat confounding.

Her answer seemed to indicate she’s under the belief that it’s her job to prop up the President as an “extraordinary leader,” something he clearly is not.

“Well, I have the great privilege of serving with Joe Biden, who is the President of the United States … and was vice president,” she replied.

Then she engaged in further effusive praise of the President.

“He really is a true partner and he understands that job,” Harris said.

“But he’s an extraordinary leader and I wish people could see what I see because there’s only one person who sits behind that Resolute Desk,” she added.

“And the decisions that person has to make are the decisions that nobody else in the country can make. And he’s an extraordinary leader. He really is.”

Colbert quipped: “That’s an excellent answer and, uh, the question was ‘What’s the job of the vice president?’ And your answer is part of the job, I’m guessing.”

Critics Tear Into Harris For Her Response

Several critics noted that it’s not a good look when the Vice President has no idea what her job is outside of slobbering over how great a leader President Biden is.

“Of course, she’s ‘Veep,’ because she’s a joke,” said “Outnumbered” co-host Emily Compagno.

Fox News contributor David Webb countered that, in her defense, she doesn’t really have any accomplishments to speak of.

“Fact is, her track record from attorney general to Senate to [vice president] is not one of accomplishment,” Webb said.

“And if that’s all you are, you haven’t gained experience, and you haven’t evolved into a better politician, elected official or maybe next [presidential] candidate.”

Following her appearance with Stephen Colbert, Vice President Kamala Harris was greeted by hecklers outside the studio chanting among other things, “Lock her up!”

Speaking to a group of students from historically Black colleges and universities last month, Harris had to have those in attendance encouraged to actually clap when she walked into the room.

Harris has endured a seemingly never-ending string of embarrassing moments, including some recent efforts where she cackled her way through her fascination with Venn diagrams and yellow school busses.

Kamala Harris was chosen exclusively because of her gender and skin color. But Biden – the extraordinary leader that he is – initially handed her roles that have been doomed to fail, and has since given her very little to do.

Except make late-night appearances singing his praises. Probably not what the first black, female Vice President envisioned when she took the job.
