Fox News’ Shepard Smith Offers Full-Throated Defense of Hillary Clinton

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith scoffed at comparisons between the FBI’s treatment of Hillary Clinton with their treatment of former Trump National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn.

And he did so by disparaging the reporting of one of the network’s most respected investigative journalists, Catherine Herridge.

Recent reports have suggested Flynn was coerced into forgoing a lawyer during his interview with the FBI, while agents sought to make him relaxed during the process in the hopes of getting him to lie. Flynn was unaware that he was under official review, did not have counsel present, and thought he was just shooting the breeze with fellow lawmen. The interview eventually led to a guilty plea on one count of making false statements.

The revelations have led to comparisons of Clinton’s interview, in which the FBI allowed her to have multiple lawyers and aides present to help defend herself and was conducted in a manner that former Director James Comey described as “unusual.”

Herridge noted in a segment with Shep that critics have made the comparisons between the two interviews and the host responded by acting like a child, rolling his eyes, interrupting Herridge’s report, and generally speaking like an ignorant, hardcore fan of the former First Lady.

It was, in a word, embarrassing. Watch:

Shep knows Hillary was treated differently, he just doesn’t want it revealed

Herridge is an award-winning Chief Intelligence correspondent for Fox. Smith is, well … he’s a token lefty who often finds himself the butt of jokes by others at his own network.

Review this exchange and it doesn’t take long to realize who the professional is, and who the amateur Hillary fanboy is:

Smith: Seriously?

Herridge: Yeah, that’s what (critics) point to.

Smith: Well, let them point. I mean Hillary Clinton, seriously?

Herridge: The point with –

Smith: The point with that was that investigation is over, and we’re on to a new one.

Watching the entire clip reveals that Herridge was fair and balanced with her reporting. She noted that a man of Flynn’s stature should have known not to make false statements, no matter the relaxed atmosphere and lack of legal representation.

Shep would fire back by reading the Special Counsel’s rebuttal to the ‘Flynn was railroaded‘ defense word-for-word. What he fails to do, after dismissing the comparisons between Flynn and Clinton, is note the many pieces of evidence of crimes, lies, and wrongdoings on Hillary’s part.

There is no mention of her lies that she used a private email server for scheduling yoga classes. There is no mention of how she destroyed evidence using Bleach Bit, or physically destroyed devices with hammers. And there is no mention that the Obama State and Justice Departments aided and abetted her in covering up her illegal activity. That’s what a fair journalist would have mentioned because they were relevant to her interview.

Smith has been described by co-hosts at the network as “inaccurate” and/or “clueless” at times, traits clearly on display when placed up against an actual journalist in Herridge.
