Contractors: Clinton State Department Silenced Us On Benghazi Security Lapses

Five years after the coordinated terrorist attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi took the lives of four Americans, contractors charged with shoring up lax security at the site are saying they were forced to keep quiet and toe the Obama Administration’s line on what happened in the following weeks.

According to a Fox News report from Catherine Herridge, Brad Owens and Jerry Torres, contractors with an American security company, were brought in to clean up the situation in Benghazi just two weeks prior to the attack.

The pair spoke out on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” claiming they were later pressured to stay silent on the matter and get on the same page with Hillary Clinton’s State Department.

Torres was asked if there was a concerted effort by a senior State Department contracting officer to silence them following the attack, to which he replied, “Absolutely, absolutely.”

He then blasted the Obama/Clinton regime for trying to cover up what had actually happened in Benghazi by blaming it on an obscure YouTube video and anti-Islamic sentiments.

“Coming from a military background, I would expect the administration to tell the truth,” Torres said. “So I bought into it for a minute. But I didn’t believe it in the back of my mind.”

That’s when they were told to keep quiet about the attack.

State Department contracting officer Jan Visintainer had Torres flown back to the United States for a meeting in which he instructed the contractor that he and his colleagues “should not speak to the media, should not speak to any officials with respect to the Benghazi program.”

Torres says he hadn’t come forward with these bombshell allegations before because of concerns that the company and its thousands of employees would be destroyed if they didn’t meet the State Department’s demands.

Owens, an Army intelligence officer, warns that people that made decisions regarding security in Benghazi are still in those positions.

Nobody was ever held accountable for what happened.

Those “who made the poor choices that actually, I would say, were more responsible for the Benghazi attacks than anyone else, they’re still in the same positions, making security choices for our embassies overseas now,” Owens claims.

“A U.S. ambassador is dead and nobody is held accountable for it. And three guys … all died trying to defend him,” Torres added.

Owens expressed hope that the Trump Administration would change that.

“I feel now that, given that the politics has been taken out of the Benghazi situation, now that there’s no longer a candidate or anything related to it, a change of administrations, that actually, we have an opportunity here to fix the problems that made it happen,” he said.
