There was perhaps no stronger supporter in the media than Fox News host Sean Hannity. He was a champion of Trump supporters and battled against “Never Trumpers” throughout the 2016 campaign.
Hannity repeatedly granted Trump extended interview time, and Hannity stood by the President when many movement conservatives would not.
But now, Hannity seems to have changed his tune, and is not happy with Trump’s attacks on the House Freedom Caucus for the failure of the “American Health Care Act,” the failed bill which was supposed to replace Obamacare.
The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don’t get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!

As Hannity opined, “Now the president’s clearly frustrated with this division in the Republican Party. On this show, we promised, we’re holding everyone in Washington accountable.”
Then he added, “It’s not the Freedom Caucus that’s responsible for the GOP failure in this case to repeal and replace Obamacare. Now this legislation was flawed from the beginning. It was created behind closed doors. Not one single member saw the bill until it was rolled out. And that made it a disaster.”
Hannity blames the attack from Trump on bad advice:
I don’t know who’s telling the White House to focus their anger on the Freedom Caucus, but I do think it’s misplaced. Because the Freedom Caucus, I’ve talked to them, they want to make a deal, and they want the win for the president and the country.
So my advice tonight to Speaker [Paul] Ryan and to Congress is simple. House leadership, you need to get all the differing factions in your caucus together.”

Hannity’s larger point is that Congressional Republicans failed Trump by not working together to pass a bill that really replaces Obamacare. But this is a new tone for Sean Hannity, who is going out of his way to defend the conservative wing of the Republican House Caucus.
