Sarah Sanders Slams April Ryan: She’s ‘Not Taken Seriously’

Sarah Sanders April Ryan

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders responded to April Ryan calling for her to have her ‘head lopped off,’ claiming the CNN reporter’s comments show why she “is not taken seriously.”

Ryan has embarked on an unhinged tirade ever since the Mueller report showed Sanders had made a “slip of the tongue … in the heat of the moment” when discussing rank-and-file agents expressing dismay at former director James Comey’s leadership.

Sanders told reporters that “countless” agents had lost confidence in Comey, a claim she still holds to be true.

“Look, I acknowledged that I had a slip of the tongue when I used the word ‘countless,’ but it’s not untrue,” Sanders said on Fox News. “And certainly, you just echoed exactly the sentiment and the point I was making, [which] is that a number of both current and former FBI agents agreed with the president.”

Ryan responded by declaring Sanders must be sacrificed for telling such an allegedly heinous lie.

“I have had reporters say a lot of things about me. They said I should be choked. I should deserve a lifetime of harassment. I certainly never had anybody say I should be decapitated,” Sanders said in a ‘Fox & Friends’ interview. “A new low for liberal media.”

“I think it just once again proves why this journalist is not taken seriously,” she said, adding that journalists like Ryan are simply “looking for a couple more minutes on TV.”

Sarah v. April

Sarah and April have a history of contentious exchanges, usually with Ryan ending up on the short end of the stick.

Following President Trump’s first State of the Union address, Ryan attempted to debate Sanders over the Democrats’ response. She wanted people to believe that this was part of the way things work in Washington, though nobody quite behaved in that manner for previous presidents.

Sanders leveled her with this response:

Sanders has also shut down Ryan when it comes to “ridiculous” questions about whether or not the President would resign, or why he allegedly didn’t cooperate with investigators because his former lawyer had his office and home raided by the FBI.

Sanders also offered Ryan a lesson in how to wait your turn in previous exchanges.

Ryan Herself is a Liar

It’s important to note that Ryan is infuriated over Sanders embellishing a statement to the media and believes it should cost her her job, but that the CNN reporter has been caught in several lies herself.

She has lied about the motivation behind Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protests. She concocted a conspiracy theory that Sanders does not actually know how to bake pies.

And she was caught blatantly lying about her colleague Jim Acosta’s life being in danger at a Trump rally.

Last August, Ryan claimed that the administration’s characterization of her network as ‘fake news’ had out her life in danger and that she needed to hire bodyguards, adding Sanders should have to pay for them.

“They’ve put a target on my head … I’ve had death threats. I’ve had craziness,” Ryan claimed. “All I’m going to say for my safety is: I have a team … I think she should have to pay for it, especially if she’s stirring it up with her boss.”

If Ryan thinks that calling her network ‘fake news’ results in death threats, what will saying Sanders should have her head ‘lopped off’ result in? Perhaps she should now be paying for Sanders’ security.
