FBI Director Christopher Wray will avoid contempt of Congress charges after agreeing to allow every member of the House Oversight Committee to review a document alleged to show President Joe Biden engaged in a “criminal bribery scheme.”

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) announced that the FBI had finally “caved” and agreed to release the document to the entire committee.

Wray had initially denied the existence of the form, an FD-1023 informant file from June of 2020, but later conceded to allowing Comer and ranking Democrat Oversight member Jamie Raskin the opportunity to view it exclusively.

The file was spotlighted by a witness who claimed it describes a “criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.”

Comer has described it as evidence that the “then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national” to the tune of $5 million.

“After weeks of refusing to even admit the FD-1023 record exists, the FBI has caved and is now allowing all members of the Oversight and Accountability Committee to review this unclassified record,” he said in a statement.

Biden Bribery Scheme Doc To Be Viewed By Committee

Comer had threatened to hold Wray in contempt of Congress for not producing the memo related to the agency’s investigation into President Biden’s alleged “bribery scheme.”

He reiterated the threat even after Wray conceded to allowing him and Raskin to view the document.

Contempt of Congress hearings were scheduled to be initiated on Thursday, but this latest “cave” seems to have satisfied Comer, as the committee removed a business meeting to vote on the matter from their schedule.

“Americans have lost trust in the FBI’s ability to enforce the law impartially and demand answers, transparency, and accountability,” Comer said in announcing the latest concession by the FBI Director. “Allowing all Oversight Committee members to review this record is an important step toward conducting oversight of the FBI and holding it accountable to the American people.”

Fears Over Safety Of Informant

As The Political Insider reported earlier this week, multiple members of the House Oversight Committee claimed that the FBI didn’t want to turn over the document because they were concerned that an informant involved in the unmasking of the alleged Biden “bribery scheme” could be “killed” if their identity is revealed.

“Just left meeting for House Oversight. The [FBI] is afraid their informant will be killed if unmasked, based on the info he has brought forward about the Biden family,” Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) tweeted.

Luna wasn’t the only member to draw the conclusion that the FBI was very concerned about the informant being killed.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told the Daily Mail that the whistleblower is now afraid “someone could kill them if someone found out who they are” for revealing Biden’s alleged criminal behavior.

The informant now “fears for their own life because of our government,” Greene alleged.

Greene speculated that President Biden would be impeached over the bribery scheme.

“That form shows the proof that Joe Biden took a money payment from a foreign national in exchange for policy decisions while he was vice president of the United States,” Greene claimed. “This means that Joe Biden will be impeached.”

Committee members can begin viewing the redacted document as of today through a SCIF, though most have already left for the weekend.
