When thugs targeted the home of a young North Carolina mother, they likely assumed she was an easy target. They thought wrong.
21 year-old Semantha Bunce was feeding her 4 month old son when intruders broke into her home. She put the baby down in his crib to keep him safe. She met the intruders at her bedroom door. When they shot at her, she was able to fire back with her pistol.
While Semantha was injured in the gunfight, her son was safe because of her actions.
Bunce is a combat medic with the National Guard. Her husband credits her training to keeping her focused in this horrific situation. Her experience in the military trained her to be a warrior and that’s exactly what she was in this situation.
Semantha had one surgery and will need another. A fellow soldier set up GoFund Me account to help cover the costs the young couple will have to endure.
