A Black Lives Matter organizer Shaun King who claimed to be the victim of hate crimes has been outed as a white man. King told Rebel magazine in 2012 that he was biracial, and the magazine reported that he is the “son of a Caucasian mother and an African-American father.” He has also described himself as “mixed with a black family” on Twitter.
A blogger, Vicki Pate, uncovered King’s birth certificate which identifies his father as a white man. Comparisons are being drawn between King and former NAACP head Rachel Dolezal, who claimed to be a black woman despite her obvious lack of skin tint.
Conservative Steven Crowder even jumped in on the fun with this video:
Critics accuse posers like King and Dolezal of using their white privilege to subjugate black culture for their own selfish reasons. This sort of racial treachery and deceit would not be possible if black people would stop referring to biracial and mixed-race people as black.
The real fun started when twitter lit the night fantastic with a plethora of tweets showing disapproval of the lie:
