President Orders American-Made Burger During Lunch With Japanese Prime Minister

During his recent visit with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, President Trump did something that Fox News host Jesse Watters called “one of the most Trump things ever.”

Rather than sampling some of the Japanese cuisine – tempura, sushi, or kaiseki – Trump opted to go with a well-done, American-style cheeseburger.

“We sincerely welcome President Trump on his visit to Japan!” Abe wrote on Twitter. “We’re getting down to business right away over hamburgers.”

Simply, a thing of beauty.

Mashable reports that Trump’s burgers were brought in by Munch’s Burger Shack, and that “all of Munch’s burgers are made from U.S. Angus beef.”

Watters was quick to point out another notable piece to this image. Two items every American has in their refrigerator as we speak – bottles of ketchup and mustard from Heinz, an American company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

That’s right, Trump traveled to Japan and had the Japanese Prime Minister eating an all-around all-American lunch.

Naturally, liberals went a little nutty over the President having American-made food on his trip to Japan.

The Huffington Post pointed out that President Obama dined at a sushi restaurant with Abe during his visit, then lamented “we miss you, Barry.”

Others on social media were simply dismayed that an American would travel to Japan and seek out an actual American food item.

Actually, it’s the leftist response to a man who would prefer to have an American-made burger over sushi that is most telling. They have no idea why a move like this, simple as it may be, is something that endears President Trump to the average, everyday citizen here in the United States.

  • WHO CARES WHAT HE ATE!!!! If I had a choice of sushi, I'd eat a hamburger... Just because you go to another country, doesn't mean you HAVE to eat what they eat...

  • I don't know if trump has any dietary restrictions but at his age he should be well aware of what he can eat comfortably or not. I would not want to go to a meeting on the other side of the world and find out the lunch I just ate was going to make me sick for several days. I admire the fact that he can still eat a hamburger something that I can't do without the gluten in the bun affecting me. Besides the focus is on the meeting and not on the lunch.

  • Trump is an old man. He is a VERY rich man, and has traveled the world for many years. I have to assume that he has tried all these other foods, but prefers good old American food, so he ordered it! What the hell is wrong with that?

  • I think it is great !!! True, there are many delightful and tasty Japanese dishes, but if the choice was sushi, I too would have a hamburger with tomato, onion, and mayo.

    • Me too.. no way I will eat sushi... no thanks...
I could care less about what he eats...but you know, the liberals got to make a big deal out of something small....and make it sound bad...
