62 percent of Americans are willing to wear a mask indoors at all times.
Broken down by party, only 38 percent of Republicans are willing to wear a mask indoors all the time.
Not surprisingly, 94 percent of Democrats support mask mandates for local businesses, while only 43 percent of Republicans agree.
Overall, 69 percent support private mask mandates.
The poll also asked participants if they supported preemptive travel bans as an effort to slow the spread of Omicron. 67 percent overall said they would support a travel ban, including 72 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of Republicans.
President Joe Biden issued a travel ban after the Omicron variant was detected on November 27.
When asked if airlines should demand passengers be vaccinated before flying, 67 percent said yes.
Respondents were also asked if they would support more lockdowns. Only 35 percent said they would support the devastating measure.
This survey was carried out as the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has reportedly spread across at least 18 states.
During the presidential campaign, Biden’s promised to “shut down the virus.”
Those states include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.
