On Face the Nation, Trey Gowdy announced “there are gaps of months and months and months” of Hillary Clinton’s emails while serving as Secretary of State. The famous picture of Secretary Clinton on her blackberry that she even has as her Twitter header photo was taken October 18, 2011, yet no emails from that day have been given to the House Subcommittee that Gowdy chairs.
“If you think to that iconic picture of [Hillary] on a C-17 flying to Libya — she has sunglasses on and she has her handheld device in her hand. We have no e-mails from that day. In fact, we have no emails from that trip.”
Clinton’s latest scandal involves the discovery that all of her official State Department emails originated from a home-brew email server located in her New York home. Government business is to be done on a federal email account. This enables the emails to be searchable with a freedom of information request. Since Clinton used her personal email through a server she controlled, she ultimately is in charge of what information the public learns unless the servers are seized.
