Gen. Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy Says U.S. Will Use “Rapid, Lethal, And Overwhelming Force” on North Korea

Tensions are rising as North Korea continues to conduct missile tests using weapons that are purportedly capable of hitting the United States. Not to mention the tragic case of Otto Warmbier, continued provocation of President Trump, and now, we’re learning, suspicious submarine activity that could preclude a missile launch.

One military leader under Trump’s command has a rather simple solution to the problem in North Korea. It’s a five-word plan to alleviate rising tensions.

Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy, Commander of the Pacific Air Forces, has warned the rogue state that America is gearing up to use “rapid, lethal and overwhelming force.”

“If called upon,” O’Shaughnessy announced, “we are ready to respond with rapid, lethal, and overwhelming force at a time and place of our choosing.”

Via the Daily Wire:

Meanwhile, Gen. Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy, U.S. Pacific Air Forces commander, said the U.S. and its allies are prepared to use “rapid, lethal and overwhelming force” against North Korea if necessary.

“North Korea remains the most urgent threat to regional stability,” the general said. “Diplomacy remains the lead; however, we have a responsibility to our allies and our nation to showcase our unwavering commitment while planning for the worst-case scenario. If called upon, we are ready to respond with rapid, lethal, and overwhelming force at a time and place of our choosing.”

That ought to be enough to send Kim Jong Un running to the nearest computer so he can Skype his BFF, Dennis Rodman. Clearly, giving Dear Leader a copy of The Art of the Deal isn’t paying dividends as Kim continues to incur the wrath of President Trump.

Senator Lindsey Graham told NBC news earlier today that Trump has a plan in place that would deliver that “rapid, lethal, and overwhelming force.”

“There is a military option to destroy North Korea’s program and North Korea itself,” Graham said. “If there’s going to be a war to stop him [Kim Jong Un], it will be over there. If thousands die, they’re going to die over there, they’re not going to die here and he’s [Trump] told me that to my face.”

That sounds pretty lethal and overwhelming. It may just be a matter of how rapid this military maneuver is put into place.

  • One carrier group with all its support vessels could within a few hours turn the entire NK country into a parking lot. Leveled and ready for construction of a new Wal-Mart.

  • Look, the Pentagon does contingency plans for war with every major threat, lots of minor ones and some you would find so implausible that you would not stop laughing as you read them (e.g., Belgium). The major threats' plans are updated annually or as needed. The plans for Russia, China, North Korea, Venezuela and Iran are being updated right now.

We have not yet been sufficiently provoked to take military action at this point. Pre-emptive action seems like both a tactical necessity and a strategic disaster. One military action I would be willing to endorse would be a prompting of a boat lift from the DPRK, backed by a blockade of US, RoK and Japanese ships prepared to rescue them, especially from DPRK retaliation. Territorial waters can be ignored when human lives are at risk. This would cause North Korea to crack the way the People's Democrat Republic of Germany did in 1989.

  • Trump has chickened out .
USA wants a N.Korean war ... give it to them .
They started so many wars before , what's another one ?
    Just do it

  • I just feel so sorry for the millions of North Korean people. They have been totally brainwashed and brutalized by this maniac KIm and his band of wacko generals. If there is a way to take he and his groupies out via special forces that should be tried. I'm quite sure that the military has covered every base and scenario. They know the pluses and minuses involved. The average man in the street does not have a clue what our real capability is and what type of specialized weapons we have. Many weapons and strategies are top secret. Kim is going to find out. I am hoping that the majority of North Koreans can be spared.

    • USA brainwash versus Kim's ... see who wins.
Then you can have Hollywood make some movies out of it . Not to mention popcorn sails ... buy those shares which make popcorn perhaps !
Nuke China while you are at it ... didn't Trump promise to kick their ass ?
