Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich spoke out over the weekend to rip into his successor House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). He went so far as to say that she is a “dictator” with “no respect for the rule of law.”

Gingrich Sounds Off 

“As a former speaker of the House, I think that the U.S. House is very, very, very important,” Gingrich said while appearing on New York WABC 770 AM radio’s “The Cats Roundtable.”

“And watching [Pelosi] become a dictator, watching her break every single rule, watching her run things entirely on her own, I think, is the most destructive thing I’ve seen done by any American politician in a very, very long time. And I think that we will see for years from now that problem,” he continued.

“[T]here’s no respect for the rule of law at the border,” Gingrich added. “There’s no respect for the rule of law when it gets involved in an issue that the left-wing cares about.”

Gingrich then warned that legislation passed by Democrats under Pelosi’s leadership could lead to “Jimmy Carter-style inflation.”

“Although we already have inflation — and we already see gasoline prices going up, food prices going up, housing prices going up, car prices going up — they are going to try to pass these two gigantic bills that we’re going to put even more pressure on the economy,” he continued.

‘Pelosi Is The Greatest Threat’

This comes days after Gingrich told Fox News that “Pelosi is the greatest threat to constitutional liberty in our lifetime.”

“If her power, arrogance, and destructiveness is allowed to continue growing, she will shatter the precedents of the U.S. House, undermine hundreds of years of common legislative precedent going back to the Magna Carta of 1215, and the destroy the established principle that those who write laws are still subordinate to them,” he added.

“The Republicans who are collaborating with Pelosi should be ashamed of themselves,” Gingrich stated. “She is using them to sustain her dictatorship, and they are making it harder for House Republicans to effectively oppose her.”

“There should be a concerted national campaign looking for ten courageous Democrats willing to stand up to the Pelosi dictatorship and defend freedom in America,” he concluded.
