House Speaker Nancy Pelosi alleges that steroids used to fight COVID-19 infection may be affecting the thought process of President Trump.
Pelosi (D-CA) made the comments following Trump’s decision to halt stimulus talks due to her “not negotiating in good faith.”
Bloomberg News reports one source on a conference call claimed: “Trump’s thinking might be affected by steroids he’s taken to treat his coronavirus infection.”
CNN senior congressional correspondent Manu Raju backed up the reporting.
“On a Democratic call, reacting to the President abruptly breaking off stimulus talks, Speaker Pelosi questioned whether Trump taking a steroid was impacting his thinking, according to two people on the call,” Raju tweeted.
Trump, according to reports, was given the steroid dexamethasone.

Appearing on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning, Donald Trump Jr. fired back at Pelosi with his own unfounded allegations.
“Nancy has her own substance issues according to the press and according to the media,” Trump Jr. replied. “I won’t get into that. It’s obviously nonsense.”
He continued to blast the House Speaker for trying to inject stimulus funds meant to help the American people with bailouts for Democrat-run areas.
“The reality is this,” he explained. “Nancy Pelosi was trying to stack literally, probably a trillion dollars of excess nonsense to bailout Democrat cities.”
He accused her of trying “to push for cashless bail, to get illegal immigrants stimulus checks as part of that package while the American taxpayer gets to foot the bill for her radical agenda.”

Nancy Pelosi was just one of many prominent figures on social media pushing a conspiracy theory that steroids are affecting President Trump’s mind.
Her daughter, Christine Pelosi, shared a New York Times article which claimed, “some White House staff members wondered whether Mr. Trump’s behavior was spurred by a cocktail of drugs he has been taking to treat the coronavirus.”
Bob Wachter, chair of the UCSF Department of Medicine, appeared on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow and stated the President may be impaired “and that the patient may not realize it.”
Several other media members and Democrats pushed the narrative with little evidence backing them up.
Trump’s physician, Sean Conley, has said the President is simply “on a routine regimen of COVID therapy.”
