Monica Lewinsky offered an interesting take on vice president Mike Pence’s suggestions to choose more time in prayer than on the internet.
Of course, the Washington Times didn’t help the man out when they took one portion of his message and placed it in the headline without context.
When you’re talking about church and prayer, then being on your knees makes sense. But the Times wanted to get Pence’s message across, and length constraints on catchy headlines being what they are, came up with this effort:
Pence: ‘Spend more time on your knees than on the internet’
Twitter being what it is, users only had one thought and it didn’t involve prayer.
Freelance journalist Lauren Duca offered a snarky response to the Times tweet of the column: “OK, who’s gonna tell him?”
That’s when Lewinsky chimed in, offering a not-so-subtle reminder of the affair and scandal she took part in with former President Bill Clinton.

Lewinsky has, in the past, complained of public scrutiny she received for her affair with Clinton, even reporting that it led to a diagnosis of PTSD.
Pence Is Right
All joking aside, it’s clear that as Pence suggests, this country needs a return to prayer in a major way.
Though he made his comments regarding political life and dealing with attacks from opponents, the message could easily apply to the general state of discourse in America today.
“No. 1 is, spend more time on your knees than on the internet,” he advised. “Forgiveness is a great gift.”
The message echoes that of Texas Governor Greg Abbott who, in response to a previous mass shooting in his state opined that “The problem is not guns, it’s hearts without God.”
They Love to Mock Pence
While this particular response wasn’t as vicious in nature, the vice president is often mocked for his conservative and religious beliefs, which the left seems to view as naive.
In an interview roughly 17 years ago, Pence stated that the only woman he’ll ever dine alone with, or attend events in which alcohol is served, is his wife.
Naturally, liberals took that loyalty to the woman he loves and made a mockery of it, even comparing the idea to holding women down through Sharia law.

Comedian Joy Behar, co-host of ‘The View,’ has also mocked Pence for praying to Jesus, saying to do so was essentially a form of “mental illness.”
“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus,” Behar quipped. “It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices.”
Mental illness is thinking people don’t have a right to their religious views and mocking them when they express their faith.
