Michelle Obama Trashes Trump For Throwing Kids In Cages – Her Husband Built Those Cages

Former First Lady Michelle Obama slammed President Trump for throwing children of illegal immigrants in cages, a practice that also took place under her husband’s administration.

Mrs. Obama’s speech, widely heralded by the mainstream media – including personalities at Fox News – as being a moral argument against Trump, contained several falsehoods.

In fact, one portion in which she criticizes America’s current leadership as lacking empathy and fomenting disdain is particularly troublesome.

“They see our leaders labeling fellow citizens enemies of the state while emboldening torch-bearing white supremacists,” she passionately complained.

“They watch in horror as children are torn from their families and thrown into cages, and pepper spray and rubber bullets are used on peaceful protestors for a photo-op,” Obama continued.

We count two lies in those comments, along with one instance of super-audacious hypocrisy.

Lies

CNN gushed that Obama’s speech constituted “a moral case against Donald Trump” and “an appeal aimed at the heart and conscience of every American.”

But how can she claim the moral high ground while blatantly lying to the American people?

First off, President Trump never ’emboldened torch-bearing white supremacists,’ a clear reference to the Charlottesville hoax – A myth concocted by the media in which the President supposedly called neo-Nazis at a rally in 2017 “fine people.”

That hoax has been debunked time and time and time again, yet Michelle lies about it with ease.

Second, law enforcement didn’t clear out “peaceful protesters” at St. John’s Church in June.

They cleared out violent anarchists who had tried to burn the church down the night before and who pelted officers with various projectiles that very day.

Obama lying seems to be second-nature. But the granddaddy of them all is her comment regarding kids in cages.

Who Wants to Tell Her

The problem with Michelle lamenting Americans that “watch in horror as children are torn from their families and thrown into cages” is that … well, this happened while her husband, Barack Obama, was President.

“I have some awkward news from the Obama years,” replied Daily Wire editor Ben Shapiro.

So did the Associated Press, who actually – shockingly – fact-checked the former First Lady on the comment, calling it a “distorted point” and criticism of the President.

“What she did not say is that the very same ‘cages’ were built and used in her husband’s administration, for the same purpose of holding migrant kids temporarily,” the AP wrote.

Wow.

Thomas Homan, the executive associate director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Obama and Joe Biden administration, says he was there when they were building cages to house illegal immigrants.

“I’ve been to that facility, where they talk about cages. That facility was built under President Obama under Secretary Jeh Johnson,” Homan explained at a conference hosted by the Center for Immigration Studies. “I was there when it was built.”

If only Michelle had her moral compass when her husband and Biden were having these cages constructed. If only she had a moral compass, period.
