And this is the party who thinks they can run your life better than you?
Socialists have pretty much hijacked the Democrat Party – so, today, among their leadership, it’s hard to tell the difference. This was much less so among Democrats of old, and especially among rank-and-file voting Democrats who just vote the party line.
Why is this a surprise? The real question is why soft questions dominate the debates. I suppose the answer to that is obvious. If Clinton knew she had to answer hard questions, she wouldn’t show up! Do I remember correctly that she often planted sympathetic people and questions in her town hall-type gatherings?
Socialism is not a political ideology, but an economic one. It is the opposite of capitalism, and supports public ownership or direction of major industries and natural resources. Capitalism believes individuals should make these decisions, not the government.
You can be a democratic socialist, democratic capitalist, or even a dictatorial capitalist or socialist. Most nations have a combination of economic systems, and the citizens are smart enough to distinguish between political and economic systems.
