Hollywood liberals are showing their hypocrisy once again this week by calling on studio executives to cut ties with the National Rifle Association (NRA) despite the fact that many of these stars have made millions of dollars off movies that glorify gun violence.
Over 100 Hollywood stars, including Julianne Moore, Darryl Hannah, and Amy Schumer teamed up with the gun control group Guns Down America to send a letter to studio executives just days before the Academy Awards.
“Since the federal government has failed to pass reforms that raise the standard for gun ownership in America, our industry has a responsibility to act,” the letter read, according to 1010 WCST.
“From 2016 to 2020, the political action committees associated with the studios behind this year’s Best Picture Oscar nominees donated a combined total of $4.2 million to NRA-backed lawmakers,” it continued. “These lawmakers’ opposition to gun reform is literally putting our audiences in danger and we are urging you to consider a politician’s position on gun reform when political contributions in the future.”

The celebrities went on to specifically call out Comcast for donating the most money to the NRA.
“Comcast, the corporate parent of Universal, which produced the war epic ‘1917,’ donated the most money to NRA-backed politicians, according to the group, with $3.5 million between [2016 to 2020],” the letter stated.
This is rich coming from Hollywood stars who have made careers off starring in films that glorify gun violence. One of Hannah’s highest profit roles comes from the Kill Bill movies, in which she portrays a gun-toting assassin. Meanwhile, Schumer had no problem brandishing a gun in her 2017 movie Snatched. As for Moore, she has starred in at least five films that feature gun violence, according to Breitbart News.
Hollywood liberals are the last people who should be lecturing anyone about staying away from guns. If they are so anti-gun, they should start by refusing to appear in gun movies themselves.
