During Game 3, basketball legend LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers apparently insulted a fan who wore President Trump’s famous “Make America Great Again” red hat.
Frequently, players toss towels to fans as a souvenir for game attendees in close seats. But LeBron apparently seems insulted by the man wearing the hat, intentionally tossing the towel away so the fan couldn’t quite reach it.
The video (posted below) which has since gone viral, shows LeBron teasing the fan, apparently acting as if he was ready to give the fan the towel, before throwing it in an unexpected direction. As you can see, the Trump fan raises his hands, ready to receive the towel, only to be disappointed.
James has a long history of opposing President Trump and insulting him on social media. He once said of Trump voters, “I don’t think a lot of people was [sic] educated.” (RELATED: LeBron James: President Trump ‘Don’t Give a **** About the People’).
A popular liberal site, The Root, even applauded the move as a rejection of “white nationalism.” Really! (language warning):
LeBron James is not here for the “Make America great again” fuckboy-ness that has epitomized white nationalism.
On Saturday, as the Cleveland Cavaliers were laying a full-body smackdown on the Boston Celtics, James went to the sideline, where he wiped his face. An old white man wearing the new Ku Klux Klan hood of 2018, aka a red “Make America Great Again” hat, held his hand to ask James for his sweat-soaked towel. James looked at the man and then threw the towel beyond his reach.
Two things stand out in this moment: The first is, isn’t it just like a “MAGA” cuckold to openly despise people of color while wearing Kanye West’s favorite accessory and simultaneously wanting the sweat-stained rag of a black man? And second, James will never be here for your white nationalist, tiki-torch-wielding, white supremacy bullshit.
