A confession: I don’t despise Jimmy Carter.
I know it’s fashionable for right-wingers to hate on the former President from Georgia. But I’ve always seen Carter as kind of a ho-hum harmless country boy swept into circumstances he wasn’t equipped to handle.
In that vein, I think Carter’s latest advice to Democrats is full of the humility and caution he used throughout his career in public service. And it’s also advice that Democrats will hate to hear.
Carter went on Fox Business with a warning for Democrats: refrain from impeachment talk. It will only hurt Democrats electorally.

You have to give him credit: Carter is being earnest here, to the point of losing his own standing among Democrats. Not only is the young socialist wing of the Democratic Party fired up about impeaching Trump, but some of the biggest spokespeople of that faction openly talk about impeachment. There has been pushback, however, with both Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders both warning against calling for impeachment. (RELATED: Bernie Sanders Tells Lawmakers To Pump The Brakes On Trump Impeachment.)
Like Pelosi, Carter is politically aware enough to know that calls for impeachment won’t be well regarded with middle-of-the-road voters. They know it’s a far-left demand that doesn’t play well in the rural areas of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Carter’s warning may be prescient but it will likely be ignored by younger Democratic voters. They’re too young and inexperienced to appreciate a man like Carter. Anastasia – Were you alive when Jimmy Carter was POTUS? Mortgage interest rates were 13%, inflation was out of control, he made a fool of himself (a “nuclear engineer”) at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Plant during that accident, and the Mullah’s in Iran took fifty-two American diplomats and citizens hostage for 444 days. His attempt to rescue the hostages was a severe embarrassment to our country. Thank God Ronald Reagan replaced him and rescued them right away! I used to believe that Jimmy Carter was the most incompetent POTUS in US history; until Obama took that honor away from Carter!
I am much less concerned with Carter’s influence than I am with Clinton, Obama, and now Lindseh Graham. Other than giving away the Canal,, what did he actually do on his own?
and While I respect the uniform and job of Sen. McCain, over the years I never knew he was a Republican other than by the letter in front of his name. I believe he would not have been any type of serious presidential candidate but for his latching on to S.Palin, who his family summarily barred from attending his services… Then I heard Sen Graham’s eulogy for his friend.. which in itself is fine and touching.. but I also heard him intimate of things that make me believe he (Sen Graham) is about to become even more ineffective when it comes to telling the progressive movement NO. Sen McCain, from what I remember, was a big fan of Kennedy and Obama and the like, and while he showed great support for our “country”, he would have appeared much more straightforward had he a D out in front of his name. So how Graham is going to start behaving I guess will be like many R’s… cover his own personal power and control and money … by showing even less support for our attempt to restore control of the country to the people than ever before.. which means I guess he is going to actively work AGAINST us. Great. One more RINO. One more gutless compromiser who knowing that socialism fails EVERY TIME it’s tried.. will soon give in to the group fighting to maintain their personal power and control by use of ANY effort they can get away with . Carter, after all this years, he came to his senses.
Jimmy Carter was an incompetent and inept President. He made decision based on his emotions instead of logic, but I never thought he was evil nor did I think he wanted to destroy our Country. He is an honest liberal democrat (he’s more moderate now) and a rare democrat who isn’t narcissistic. I hold no ill will for him and he tries to stay out of the political arena for the most part. Maybe he could teach Hillary a thing or too.
Jimmy Carter was not a harmless President. Our military pay was frozen for three years and our Armed Services were gutted and attacked with new “social programs”. Combat experienced Veterans left the service in droves because of the hostile environment toward non political servicemen. The Navy sent 640 ships to the scrapyards and replaced none. The new Naval Doctrine was protect the supply line not Control The Ocean. The Germans proved in WWII that that does not work. The Navy lost more ships during the Carter administration than they did in WWII. Definitely earned the title of worst President in history.
First of all what the heck are you going to impeach the President on, his honesty, his use of twitter, his ability to point out the obvious, his keeping most of his campaign promises and in most cases exceeding them, his bringing America back to a respected country, with more people working, and for better wages, his trying to close our borders and requiring illegals to go through proper channel’s to gain citizenship and at the same time making it safer for American’s and people visiting to walk the street’s, etc, etc,…… No what the Democrats are really pissed off about is that President Trump put a monkey wrench in their globalist new world order plains. A plain to have all of us normal Americans subservient to their agenda, an evil so corrupt it can only be exposed in the last day’s covered in the Holy Bible. This is what has Satan his demons and those drawn in by this deception so motivated that they will go to almost any length to accomplish their goal. From watching Cavuto on FOX and the Jiminy Carter interview I learned that Neil worked for President Carter, I would never have guessed…..Jiminy said it as he thought and impeachment is a lousy idea in this case…all the left has is hate and intolerance, no platform worth mentioning and the most anti American rhetoric ever heard from a non banned political party…..why would you want to consider a party that acts like the enemy we oppose…we let them try Barry Sotero and his ill thought lead with your behind, it is now on the verge of extinction, thanks to a real President who is righting this agenda of malice….I digress….Carter was not a political warrior, he was just another ill considered thought of the left..He is a fine person for Homes for Humanity…I wonder at times just what S. America would be like today if we still had control of the Panama canal?
Carter is NO Christian! Leftists who claim to be Christian have created their own God of wealth, power, and that agrees with their agenda of one world order. With all of the i morality exuded by the left, carter STILL supports them and their agenda – his judgement by the one true God will not be pretty, nor will his eternity!
Carter is speaking out against impeachment because he knows there is no grounds for it AND he knows that leftists are showing just how ignorant and worthless they are by constantly pressing the issue. There is NOT one thing that President Trump has done that he could be impeached for.

Carter likely has the highest IQ of any President in recent times.
Quite a brilliant man. And a man of many other skills who achieved some serious things (eg Sinai Settlement) despite being cut off from a second term by Republican dirty work abroad.
Talk of impeachment all you want to. It seems that those that do so have no understanding of the why or how it works. The first thing is like or don’t like has no bearing on what is to happen. Secondly, You MUST have evidence of high crime. Evidence, not rumors. Not undisclosed sources. Thirdly, party lines or party belief does not fill the requirements for evidence, no matter what you think.

Democrats have two major wings and a few minor ones. Sanders call for making Socialism work relates to near universal college attendance combined with idealistic notion that socialism doesn’t fail if econometrics tells ‘experts’ how to plan for a future without any unknowns because Keynesian Theory has no way to predict them! These young were cheated out of running Bernie by Hillary’s corrupt alliance with Obama since she let him win in 2008. We are just now rooting out a few dozen of their nasty tricks and finding that her private server was installed to give China copies of all in and out to it! But, her name is still attached to the other big wing of those aligned with some Republicans to maintain the system that assures survival of both in Congress.
I doubt that any way exists to get the lying progressives to work with the honest but ‘brain-washed’ young socialists that do see real problems resulting from technology and global conflicts. Neither alone can stop Trump from ‘draining the swamp’ while the people survive and maybe create a party that thinks one by one rather than just voting as told to do by two leaders- one in each part of Congress. I hope that happens in another few years before corruption overcomes those newcomers that want to survive too.
Meanwhile, thanks to ‘Jimmy the peanut farmer’ who upset all in 1976 as we celebrated our birthday of 200 years, we here the same sort of truth that Harry Truman spoke. Meanwhile, a party without anything to offer but a civil war between the two wings over who gets to run the show. Meanwhile the GOP best get Congress to work without RINOs to accelerate the effort to allow those with jobs to voluntarily help those that failed to qualify for current technological jobs and professional service providers.
Normally I don’t comment on minutiae but in this case … it’s not an ascot. It’s more of a bandana work backwards outlaw style. Still it’s pretty good on him. Honestly, I really think he has aged well.

Reading between the lines, I think they’re just saying “Button your lips until AFTER the mid-terms.”
His warnings are too little and too late! Once you inject the crazies with poison it’s not easy to reverse that.
That’s the problem with lots of what’s happening today. ESPECIALLY on college campuses.
Experience and wisdom is not something the youth (for the most part) will ever appreciate.
